Old Soviet joke for today:

A man walks into a newsstand every day, looks around, and leaves.

After a long time of this, the owner says “Can I help you find something?”

“I’m looking for the obituaries.”

“The obituaries are in the back of the newspaper, comrade.”

“Not the one I’m looking for.”

Expressions of queer and trans joy, solidarity, and resistance, are so important.

We know who we are.

This is the first thing I've sewn in six months. The rotator cuff tear seems to have healed, or at least isn't my worst source of chronic pain currently, so I'm back to fiddling with thread and poking my fingers to death.

Yes, you're helping Pedro! We need more cis allies with platforms to call this out.

Reading Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi in my 20s genuinely opened my eyes to how diverse graphic novels could be as a medium. It's something I return to every so often over and over, seeing something new every time. I recommend it to everyone. It's on my mind today for obvious reasons.

I just cannot get past "encourages sickness". Ill health and disability is not something people CHOOSE. It happens TO us, not BECAUSE of us. If I could choose to be abled, I quite possibly would, but I was born with wonky DNA, so I can't!
I’ve been making my way through the Welfare Reform Bill and this paragraph on the gov.uk website is genuinely disgusting.

Receiving a decent disability benefits rate “encourages sickness”, does it? Funny, I thought it just enabled severely ill and disabled people to eat.

Pope Toast III reporting in!
Your Pope name is the last thing you ate + the # of letters in your first name: Pope Pretzel VII. (I do like the alliteration)
Your Pope name is the last thing you ate + the # of letters in your first name

Pope Breakfast Hash IX which is amazing because that means 8 others know the glory of potatoes, onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, cheese, and over easy eggs

with everything being crammed into the same feed, it sometimes feels like you can't get away from the companies or people who make your online life worse. I propose we create specific places - "sites," I've been calling them - which are independent, but also connected with a sort of "web" of links

There isn't a story on the BBC News site about today's trans rights rally at Parliament Square where it's estimated 20k attended. But they did have a story last week about the Let Women Speak transphobe rally in Bristol where 100 people attended.

I am really saddened by the level of vitriol and hatred being directed toward the trans community.

We are losing our common humanity. How hard is it to treat people with kindness and respect?

Trans people are human beings — and they deserve to live in dignity like anyone else.

why did nobody warn me about Satisfactory. help. I have no idea what I'm doing but I can't stop playing it anyway. It's like Minecraft on steroids combined with the addictiveness of Balatro (somehow) 🫠

honestly as a disabled person living in the UK who has been medically retired, you'd think I'd be used to being told by the government I don't deserve things like basic food, water, clothing, heating, a place to live, etc, but it's uniquely depressing for it to be coming from a labour government.
