This creepy pledge-your-obedience-to-Israel bullshit is already commonplace in America and we must do everything in our power to ensure it does not gain a hold here.

Hello everyone, emerging to drop some comments about Trump's recent statements about Gaza. I have limited time so I'd rather dump a quick analysis into a single meandering thread, sorry in advance

Trump is likely to try and either raise tariffs on Mexico for doing this or he will try direct coercion, i suspect
(NBC News) - Mexico denied a U.S. military plane access to land Thursday, at least temporarily frustrating the Trump administration's plans to deport immigrants to the country, according to two U.S defense officials and a third person familiar with the situation.

Mexico refuses to accept a U.S. deportation flight
The Mexican government has criticized President Donald Trump's unilateral immigration actions, and the landing would have required Mexico's assistance.

- No legal justification provided for use of the military in domestic law enforcement.

Without that, this is state-sponsored human trafficking.

AUKUS will cost $375 billion.

That is a crazy amount of money. If the Govt. was to pay $1 million every day, it would take over 1000 years to get $375 billion.

Think of all the things that need $1 million: your local school or hospital. The government decided to spend it on nuclear subs instead.

The decision leaves refugees who have completed a lengthy process stranded abroad and facing extended separation from loved ones already in the U.S.

and anyone telling you otherwise can shut the fuck up until the cows come home cuz this works and is the core foundation for how we build a mass resistance
The most powerful words you can say right now to these fascist bastards is:

"No, make me."

They cannot actually be everywhere and enforce their fascist policies. They rely on fear to do the job of governing for them. By refusing to comply, you make their means of compliance ineffective.

One of my favourite parts of biking home every day is smelling what people are making for dinner - the closer I get to my house, the more neighbourhood streets I take, the more dinner I smell.
Seriously, smell is a very underrated bike sense: curries cooking, bread baking, even the perfumes of people you pass. And helpfully, it's not also needed for purposes of staying alive.
Longtime WFH-er here. You know how I get engagement? I can do my errands by bike and I see, hear and smell things in the neighbourhood. There was a dramatic shift to WFH in our 'burb between censuses and I don't think it will reverse. So make neighbourhoods great again.

What is Russia expecting from President Trump 2.0? In today’s Russian papers predictions range from “an improvement in [Russia-US] relations. He will vent his anger on Russia’s enemies, not on us” to “don’t expect peace, friendship and bubble gum.” #ReadingRussia

To be clear, it's not some antisemitic conspiracy theory that US lawmakers voted to ban TikTok in order to shut down criticism of Israel among young people. They openly admitted that this was in fact what they were doing.

This 🧵from George M sets out the harsh reality of the next Trump term [and maybe more].

Worth a read - noting that up to point 4 is 'best case' scenario. 😱
1. In this thread, I try to imagine the best and worst scenarios arising from Trump’s presidency. I make no claims about probability. I’m not trying to forecast results, just to imagine them. We know it will be terrible, whatever happens. The key question is how (or whether) it ends. 🧵
