I think everyone is way overthinking the Mamdani thing. Rubbing elbows with cool people so that he can pretend they are both very popular is one of the only things that makes Trump happy.

Let's be real, they are almost certainly doing this because it is one of the few jobs that women can train to do that basically guarantees employment with a comfortable living. Boy, do they HATE women who don't need them.
I just read up on the Dept of Education proposal (how can a dismantled dept make a proposal) to exclude post-grad nursing programs from financial aid eligibility and hoo boy that is how you tank a university budget

This is aggravating, because "studies have not ruled out that vaccines cause autism" is true in exactly the same way that the statement "studies have not ruled out that an invisible intergalactic eel flies behind Saturn once every 5,000 years to lay its eggs" is true
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

I have no idea what is going to happen, I just keep hoping there is a Dem Senator who has a copy of this thing and is at least privately signaling to DoJ that if they redacted it, they will be happy to leak the unredacted version.

The fight has come to NC, and it just hit close to home. Our daughter teaches in Durham public schools and she said almost all of the Latinx kids are not in school today. ICE is targeting everyone who "looks Hispanic", citizen or not. I am even more angry today-kids need to go to school!

My favorite coworker is a very sweet older hospital lab tech who has an encyclopedic knowledge of the site policy, is extremely literal, can't stand having all the fluorescent bulbs on, and can hear a machine beeping seemingly through walls.
one of the surgeons on the show just said that he's been having the exact same lunch for eight years and i'm glad autistic people are in medicine lolol
Started watching the show CRITICAL on Netflix - it's a docuseries on trauma hospitals in London and telling the stories of everything doctors, paramedics, and nurses do to help people facing life changing injuries. It tells the stories with great care to the patients, too.

They obviously ARE pricing out people who can't pay $15 for a Big Mac meal, but they are also losing business from people who have the $15 but know they can get something better than McDonald's for $15. If you charge fast casual prices, you better have fast casual quality.
