Dutch instructions seem to come in two flavors: 1. Arrive on time to your appointment. If you arrive more than a minute early, the police will be notified. 2. If you are running a little early, turn left at our entrance and walk 200 meters. There is a peaceful canal with a footpath. Isn't that nice?

They fantasize that in the societal collapse, they'll be revealed as heroes, like in the movies they've seen. It's the same fallacy of valor that has convinced people to rush off to get killed in every war in human history, but freshened up for the modern rube with a soupçon of jaded nihilism
There is something that has been building for years and seems to have kicked off with climate change and gained speed in the first Trump admin and is now going full-bore and it’s this apocalypse fetish where people are actively wishing and hoping for bad things to happen and it’s fucking weird.
People are so excited that we might be on the verge of civil war. I’m not. I’m a basic bitch who likes basic things like pumpkin spice lattes and not getting shot at in the grocery store.

I gotta say, all of the "ew, helping young guys figure out dating and sex is anti-feminist" takes prove the point that this cultural ground has been ceded to alt-right grifters. No, politicians shouldn't weigh in (no one is saying so), but there should be feminist perspectives in that conversation
We've come a long way from the sexual revolution as a left victory if we're at "seeking out sex is intrinsically reactionary" levels.
