First they came for the immigrants, and I did not speak out (because the message test performed at a low percentile rank compared to other messages in our testing bank for non college men who opt into online surveys through various consumer reward programs)
okay ryan, but does it raise or lower trump's approval rating among people who sign up to take surveys in a digital ad-testing production system? that is the only question that matters

the big questions for american democracy going forward seem to be (1) can the GOP actually build the federal police state they just funded, (2) in time to finish before democratic checks can be established, and (3) whether dems gaining power would actually try to stop/dismantle it

I made this point on a recent episode of Normal Men but the reason to be mad at this broken institution isn’t because it changes votes but because it manufactures elite consent for the most vile forms of reaction (in this case anti-Semitism). And elite signaling is important for actual conditions!
No mention of Trump’s “Shylock” slur in this NY Times article about his “victory lap” speech in Iowa.

Insane scenes in Downtown Los Angeles as the cops open fire indiscriminately on people milling about. The cops shattered a business’s windows while firing on a live-streaming journalist. Keep this in mind when people talk about the protesters causing property destruction. 🎥 : AXN News on YouTube

Breaking: ICE is spotted at the customs building on La Cienega and 111th. The building is used by Customs and Boarder protection for all international inbound and outbound cargo. Apparently ICE has taken over and using it as a staging area.

Back to the federal building, the protestors have exploded in numbers and are approaching the building again

This is WAY BIGGER than any previous protest. The national guard is instigating far LARGER of a response and the feds are LOSING.

I think the thing a lot of people are like just refusing to grasp is the point was always that the US cutting off aid would cause mass death. That under developing these countries, creating a network of soft power and dependence was always the liberal agenda. That it was set up this way.

I’ve seen so many attempts to explain exactly why this is but the only explanatory framework that works is that the media has an extremely strong conservative bias
If a democrat responded to a question about small business this way they’d be broken on the rack bsky.app/profile/theb...
Q: "Are you considering tariff relief for small businesses?"

Trump: "Why do you always mention, you know, a couple of little businesses. What about the car business?"

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.

This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

Blinken is going to be as hated as Kissinger. But Kissinger at least knew what he was hated for, and wore it on his sleeve. Blinken, with his soft spoken faux liberalism will never understand why. Or at least he will pretend not to understand.

Opposing the majority party is being the opposition party; signing on to what the majority party does makes you the junior partner in a governing coalition. When they succeed you get zero credit and when they fail you share blame. This isn’t hard, nor is it new ground.
Reminds me of the run-up to the Iraq War. Dems did not want to seem weak on an issue, and then when the public turned against it, they were as tied to it as Bush was.

Once officials do start rounding up immigrants, and the public responds, going to be hard for Dems to pin it on Trump.
Dems appear close to surrendering to Trump/GOP on the Laken Riley Act. Dem aides tell me they're particularly rankled with how Sens John Fetterman and Ruben Gallego rushed to endorse the whole bill. That undercut the potential to amend it later.

Recall the Strategic Response Group (SRG) was originally sold as a specialized “counterterror” squad that could quickly respond to ISIS-style attacks and since its inception in 2015 has only been used to harass Black Lives Matter, anti-genocide protestors and striking workers.
Today the NYPD deployed the Strategic Response Group (SRG) to harass and arrest striking Amazon workers.

As Mayor, I will disband the SRG, which has cost taxpayers millions in lawsuit settlements and brutalized countless New Yorkers exercising their first amendment rights.
