Cornell PhD student Momodou Taal attended a pro-Palestine protest of a campus job fair where weapons manufacturers were recruiting. Out of more than 100 participants, he appears to be the only one suspended by the university—and it could cost him his visa.

Call me old fashioned, but I just think if a piece of information is present in a book, and you miss it, that just means you didn't read it carefully enough.

It does not mean that the book "failed" to give you the info and it should've been rehashed 10x in increasing explicitness for clarity.

4 yrs ago today, a family member managed a truly spectacular own goal, splintered his domestic bliss, & in the process, united the world for a day.

On popular request, I shall now recreate the livetweet thread from that day

So gather around children, for this is the tale of The Rice Truck Saga

Hi. It's me. All of this.

Please keep in mind that books that get banned mean living authors start to lose paid opportunities to speak at schools which disproportionately affects middle grade and young adult authors and their income.
It's currently Banned Books Week and I'd love to use this moment to remind you that book bans aren't about the books.

They're about silencing marginalized people (and creating the permission structure for their harm) and defunding institutions of public learning.

Couldn’t resist taking it out of the press early. So it’s back in there now and I’ll take better photos later but I love how this turned out!
