A second child has died of measles in Texas.

Measles is both dangerous AND preventable. In fact high childhood Vax rates (>95%) can eliminate it completely from a country.

Please read and share our recent report on once common childhood diseases.

23andMe declared bankruptcy and the company is gonna be sold off for parts. That includes your DNA information and the only amount of control you have is to delete your info immediately. It’s very simple to do.

It starts to feel a lot like spring. Enjoying the sunshine at the moment, especially after a very grey and drizzly day yesterday

Trump’s framing of these talks is so wrong.

1) Why does Russia have any right to any sovereign Ukrainian territory?

2) Why’s the US “mediating”? Have both parties asked it to?

3) How can the US be a mediator when it’s seeking its own material gain from at least one party?

4) Why exclude Europe?

A reminder: Vladimir Putin could end the war in Ukraine right now, just by ordering his soldiers to go home. No need for treaties or negotiations.

This is not just breaking a taboo on a day where the Bundestag was supposed to remember the Holocaust, it will backfire for the Conservatives as the pandering to the far right has backfired for the Tories in Britain.

A huge victory for the AfD. A dark day for Germany.

Why do people never learn.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Ironically, the #Magdeburg attacker supported the far-right AfD, shared its messages on Twitter, and demanded to 'close European borders to illegal migrants' - despite being a refugee himself.

So this weekend, (anti-immigration) hate has 'won' both sides of the argument. This is crazy.

We already see Border Force Officials deny entry to people with valid proof of immigration status at times. The whole eVisa saga has been mismanaged from the start, and continues to be now. That's before you look at impact on things like right to rent/work etc.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.

I know it's the first of Advent today, but I don't feel very Christmassy yet. Was thinking about assembling flat-packed ginger bread houses I bought, but can't find the motivation. Have definitely been more organised in previous years, but somehow lack the motivation this year.
