if you can’t find a job on wingnut welfare with a master’s from hillsdale and an internship with a house republican, it’s because you are too personally loathsome and unpleasant to get hired by some of the most unpleasant people in america
Honestly why didn't he get a job working for a conservative politician, like isn't that what those degrees are for?

my ideal world is one in which Dems are yelling about anti-corruption non-stop for the next four years. "we will punish the rich people who are screwing you" is probably the best left/liberal message for low-trust voters.
it seems bad that the richest man on the planet can derail the entire federal budget because he read some tweets that wildly misinterpreted bill language

B.C.’s decision to make #contraception free led to a spike in women choosing long-acting options like IUDs, which are better than the pill at preventing unwanted pregnancies, new data show, by @kellygrant1.bsky.social www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic... via @theglobeandmail.com #ReproRights
UBC research shows increase in birth-control use after province made contraception free
Researchers noted a significant shift to IUDs, implants and other types of long-acting birth control as soon as those products became 100 per cent publicly funded

Women’s desire for reproductive autonomy and only wanted pregnancies is global and the most endangered liberty worldwide
it's really poorly understood outside of specialist circles just how ubiquitous falling birthrates have become globally--myanmar and nepal, two deeply impoverished nations, are both below replacement

America really has no clue what is coming. This is straight up PRI-style "2+2=5 when the Judge Says So" corruption that allowed a shadow dictatorship to rule mexico for decades.
A federal judge violated judicial ethics rules by publishing an essay in the New York Times criticizing SCOTUS Justice Samuel Alito for allowing provocative flags including an upside-down American flag to fly outside his houses, according to a court order reut.rs/4gEevnX

a lot of people want to figure out a way to make populist appeals by being an even bigger asshole than Trump, but that's not possible. he's as purely concentrated an asshole as a person can get. there is no bigger asshole. you have to do something different.

This did not seem like a good question to ask the internet so we worked it out for ourselves

My two cents: hippie food purity type parents share a lot in common with TheoBro parents and with the tech-lots-of-babies parents in that they all desperately cling to the idea that they can control (or “influence”, or “guide”) their children to live like they do, even when the parents are gone.

Apropos of nothing the side effects of pregnancy are orders of magnitude more dangerous than transition but we don’t have universal BC for under 18s to prevent avoidable harm

When you are a middle-class-plus Kentuckian, you follow one of two paths: (1) you become a hobbit and start fetishizing rootedness and "the land" and resenting outsiders, or (2) you realize the ornery, postmodern potential of your stateless, placeless, universally-loathed Scots-Irish forbears.

*Black Phillip from The VVitch voice*

“Wouldst thou like to live…conveniently?”
Democracy is probably the most vexatious form of governance, which is why appeals to convenience will always be biased towards authoritarianism.
One of the reasons why I tilt at “consumerism” so much is that it encourages a mentality of convenience, and my concept of democracy is way less convenient, and often vexatious, and full of mistakes. I don’t love democracy because it’s easiest, or because humans all are ready to handle it.

That Dobbs would begin a political realignment so powerful it would enable our first woman president. Turns out a bunch of people thought that they could protect abortion rights and elect Republicans at the same time!
One thing that annoys me about social media and politics is that rather than admit that you were wrong about something, people tend to double down and retreat into their own echo-chambers rather than admit that they were mistaken. So my question to you is what were you wrong about politically over
