Is it a threat to free speech when the President of the United States threatens to yank the broadcast license of a channel whose reporters are asking him challenging questions?

I ask because I feel like there used to be tons of pundits worried about free speech. Where'd they go?
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."

I love this idea:

“anytime a billionaire is asked for public comment on anything, someone with < $1,000 in the bank should get equal time to offer a rebuttal.”
In this week's newsletter I wrote about losing a parent (to bad politics) and good tv shows and the billionaires who pretend they're going to leave a city if their taxes go up by an amount that will never make their lives worse.

A party that couldn't endorse Mamdani. . . has room for Marjorie Taylor Greene

The party can burn in hell
Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.

Seen a few folks astonished by my lack of support for ChatGPT and similar. Because AI, right?

Yeah, no. What we have right now is glorified autocorrect. Glorified autocorrect that takes the energy of an entire city to do what it does, plus half of Lake Erie to cool down while it's doing it.

The biggest liars in the world posed as free speech advocates because “everyone must pay for, listen to, and agree with what we say” doesn’t poll well, and the stupidest people in the world (many of them in key positions in America’s newsrooms) fell for it.
Right on cue.

1. The Normies leave
2. The advertisers follow
3. It devolves into a 4chan-esque cesspool that no one else takes seriously.

If you’re dual-posting here and on Xitter, I invite you to consider not doing that anymore. You’re not reaching your audience there anyway

You know what's impolite and discourteous?

Repeatedly lying to someone's face.

You know what's disrespectful?

Deliberately trying to gaslight the people you're addressing.

There is nothing "civil" about JD Vance. Nothing at all.

When does the constant stream of DISinformation originating from demonstrably bad political actors become THE main story, THE main headline across all of news media?

What's it going to take?

This is insane.

No, not weird as in quirky or eccentric.

Weird as in big creepy sociopath energy.

If you can't tell the difference... you're weird.

Only a sociopath would be unable to comprehend having empathy, compassion and concern for anyone outside of themselves or their immediate genetic relations.

This one statement from Musk speaks volumes about who he is as a person, and how utterly broken he is.
Relatedly, have you seen this fucking bullshit?
