The Founders put ‘advice and consent’ in the Constitution for a reason. They wanted Senators to have oversight over Cabinet picks of a President to ensure that they were properly vetted. Winning an election 49.89%-48.24 doesn’t dispense with that constitutional responsibility.

Just finished We Used to Live Here, by Marcus Kliewer. If you’re a fan of the SCP mythos or more recently the Alan Wake universe you’ll love this book. It’s a fun sprint through a labyrinth of terror, tension, and psychological / analogue horror.
