Every time you hate read an article you justify its writing. It really is that simple
don't reskeet book excerpts from terrible people, even to dunk on them or to hate-read.

You give prestige magazines clicks, and you encourage them to do this crap more.

Encourage terrible people to go to What Ever Happened To?? land

14 years ago my kid pointed up at election posters and everytime delighted at the man she called The Wizard. She was right, for 14 years Michael D Higgins has been a magic president who has delighted us all everytime we see and hear him. You Wizard Higgins are truly the best of humanity. Thank you.

One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Great letter in today's Irish Times highlighting our government's absolute refusal to reflect the will of the majority of people here who want sanctions on apartheid Israel for its genocidal crimes against Palestinians. They promised they would enact the #OccupiedTerritoriesBill, where is it?

Remember - if it's OK to call @paulmurphy.pbp.ie et al "far left" or "hard left" for saying that people deserve homes and basic services, then it's entirely OK for you to call politicians "far right" and "racist" when they try to blame a housing disaster they created on immigrants.

Fuck all of these people - craven, opportunist pigs every one of them, completely devoid of compassion or principles who, when threatened, choose to attack the most vulnerable.
May they all rot.

The recent attack at the IPAS centre in Drogheda is shocking, but not surprising. Nor is the silence from those who shout the loudest about protection of women and children.

Show me a single Irish politician reacting with even a millionth of the empathy of the woman from Drogheda interviewed on RTÉ News - who was weeping in horror thinking of the people inside the hotel and how terrorised they must have been. Or the man saying the same right after.

"Connolly's... campaign proved something about Ireland in 2025. The left can win in Ireland, and we may, at last, not be quite so centrist as those in the centre would like to believe."

FFG try pull us to the right but can't get us close to centre. The propaganda has rotted their brains, not ours!
“If this was, as Harris framed it, a referendum on Ireland’s proud history of better-things-aren’t-possible centrism, then surely he must accept that his conceptualisation of Ireland is actually… wrong.”

This week’s column is about how FG and FF have responded to the election results.

I’ve lost count of the number arson attacks on IPAS centres or even buildings *suspected* of being IPAS. Between 2018-2023 there were at least 25. I suspect the number in the last 2 years may be close to that.

We’re not lucky it’s a minor miracle that no one has killed yet

Bad enough the Gardaí gave free run to the far right for years.

Bad enough arson against immigrant centres became standard practice for racists.

Bad enough we've already had race riots.

The Taoiseach & Táinaiste poured petrol on all the above during the week, & we shouldn't be shy in saying it.

One of the reasons some people spoiled their votes is because they are racist and antisemitic, and they even went as far as to write that on the ballot paper.
Haven't seen that discussed too much, I wonder why ...
Last weekend saw the highest-ever proportion of invalid ballots in Irish electoral history.

From a lack of perceived choices to anger with the government and its policies, our readers told us why they chose to spoil their votes:
