Ghislaine Maxwell hopes to get out of jail by engaging in extortion.

I'm beginning to get the impression that Ghislaine Maxwell enjoys criming.

I ain’t no political scientist, but if’n I were to name such an era as was characterized by state-sanctioned brand supremacy alongside the dismantling of legally protected media institutions and the obfuscation of objective truth by way of inexpert influencers, I’d call it The Great Impression.

The Heritage Foundation has released a 250-year roadmap to “save America.”

The document is a how-to guide for subjugating girls & young women: a detailed plan to push them out of college, funnel them into early marriage and motherhood, and then trap them there.

This comes at the same time that the conservative movement is targeting young women more broadly—from tradwife bullshit to MAHA misinformation about birth control.

The goal is convincing the next generation that the rapid erosion of their rights isn’t a political crisis, but a lifestyle upgrade.

Uh, Barnes & Noble, you good? Not only is Amal El-Mohtar @amalelmohtar.com not a man, but Seasons of Glass and Iron should not be on your Most Anticipated YA of 2026. (The summary on the book's page says "her," so someone edited it to say "his.") www.barnesandnoble.com/blog/most-an...

Keep in mind that this statistic does not include the dogs owned by police themselves that have been killed by negligence or malice.

I would love to have stats on working dog deaths. I would like to confirm that the biggest danger to them is being left in a hot car.
"Since launch, more than a dog a day has been found and more than 27 dogs a day every day every year have been shot by the police using your Search Party by Ring cameras to hunt and kidnap your neighbors who they also shoot to the tune of about 4 a day every day every year, as well as the dogs."

maybe California should stop throwing tax dollars at a scammer who won't shut up about how much he hates the state, just a thought
"Nevertheless, the reservation of vouchers effectively limited access to funding for other manufacturers with production-ready electric trucks, as HVIP operates on a first-come, first-served basis and funding rounds are typically oversubscribed within days."

Always frustrating.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but: You can make chocolate chip cookie dough, portion it out onto baking sheets, freeze it, and transfer the raw cookies to a container. Then bake them a few at a time, from frozen — warm homemade cookies in twenty minutes or so, whenever you want.

NEW: The Republican National Committee (RNC) is urging the U.S. Supreme Court to dramatically restrict mail-in voting nationwide and asking the justices to rule that ballots arriving after Election Day — even if mailed on time under state law — should not be counted.
Republicans ask Supreme Court to block states from counting legally cast mail ballots
If the Court sides with the RNC, millions of voters who depend on mail-in voting could be disenfranchised.

Democrats should make closing the camps their #1 priority
In ICE detention camps, “disease and illness are rampant, mold grows on the walls, and detained individuals are denied sufficient food, clean drinking water, proper medical care, and disability accommodations”.

ICE is a scourge of humanity, and also of public health.
Immigrants at ICE’s Adelanto detention center denounce lack of medical care and “inhumane” conditions

In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

Walker’s piece shows how powerful groups are working to reshape language around sex + gender. They work across interests and even countries, normalizing increasingly reprehensible language. But contrary to what The Atlantic would have you believe, none of those interests are trans people ourselves.
When Trump latched onto the phrase "gender ideology" in his EOs, it stood out as overtly eliminationist language. But popularized originally as an anti-feminism slogan by the Vatican, it became endemic in the UK in the past decade and has become arguably the most visible explicitly anti-trans term.
