I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say perhaps we should focus on the Minneapolis child murderer being a Nazi, not their gender identity.

Trouble is, the far-right is already screaming for vengeance against trans people and it just got a lot fucking worse.

I'm so scared.

This New Yorker piece is the most hopeful I've felt about the world in a long time.

I had no idea solar was booming like this. And if you live in the same world as me, dominated by oil & gas guys maintaining that solar and wind are inefficient gimmicks, you might not've known some of this either.

hey here's something I would love us all to do like RIGHT NOW: find out if your local library is doing any kind of pride programming or display, and if they are, email them to say thank you and why it matters to you. whether or not you're queer. especially if you're in an area where it's fraught

I feel like most of my followers know this but because I see a lot of cis folks who have a specific blind spot for it:

This includes the theme park. I don't care if you want Butterbeer or want to get a wand or are already there so why not just walk in. It's all Her. Everything with the name is Her.
J.K. Rowling is using her wealth attained from the "Harry Potter" series to create an organization dedicated to removing transgender people's rights "in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.”

Everyone should note Unbound is now Boundless and you should never buy anything from them
They owe me about £75,000 and never made a single one of their scheduled repayments.

My US books are all a sublicense of my Unbound deal, so all US royalties went to them, for them to take a cut and then deliver the rest to me. They collected 18 months from Penguin Random House and gave me $0.

his husband says nothing about a "disagreement." and if his husband's account is accurate, it absolutely was not that. it was a targeted hate crime after years of bigoted harassment. that's not "a disagreement between neighbors" anymore than stalking is "a disagreement between acquaintances"

Repping SUNFLOWERS by @keezyyoung.bsky.social!

SUNFLOWERS stands on its own merit as a comic but it’s also a great resource for people with bipolar disorder - both as an affirmation & as something you can share with people in your lives to help increase their understanding of your experience

The average price of a first-run movie ticket in the US right now is $16.08. If the minimum wage had kept pace with inflation, 40 minutes of labor would buy you a movie ticket. Better than how things are now: $7.25/hour means 2+ hours of labor gets you a movie ticket
A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

was just telling my brother and his girlfriend how bad it feels to see something cool online and immediately be like nah. that's not real. something that cool must be AI. and then to find out it is real and like god that hurts so much. you took away that moment of wonder from me. you STOLE it
One thing i think that drives me insane about GenAi is that it's denying the absolute mind-blowing power of actual nature and the physical world. For something weak and fake

There was an old tweet that stuck with me: "If you can easily walk to the coffee shop but your barista has a one hour commute, you don't live in a walkable 15 minute city; you live in a theme park"
as someone who lives nextdoor to both supportive housing and public housing, i need people to understand that the best locations for both are going to be the central neighborhoods in a metropolitan area, where there is easy and reliable access to services and jobs.

8/ “The Year After a Denied Abortion" also documented the unraveling of a Tennessee family after a denied abortion for a life-threatening pregnancy.

This photo essay helped audiences see, feel and understand how decisions made by those in power impact families.
She Was Denied an Abortion After Roe Fell. This Is a Year in Her Family’s Life.
Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Modern top surgery is generally designed to fit the shape of the pecs. But is this the only option?

I made this graphic, "Worldbuilding With Top Surgery Scars", to imagine what transmasculine surgery could look like in a world apart from ours.

Please feel free to share and use for inspiration!

I recently found myself on a small new Discord server that has rapidly filled up with teenagers and they are absolutely STARVED for anything that sounds remotely like "good job" or "I'm proud of you"
honestly I think teenagers are so inundated with messages like "you're difficult" "you're a nightmare" "you're unpleasant. you're unwanted. you're a public menace. you're annoying and frustrating and a drain on your parents" that it can do WONDERS for us to just say "hey. I like you. you're okay"

listen, I am frustrated with discourse that paints autism as universally just "generally functional people who like trains". there IS more to it than that. is my uncle happy as is? would he better off without this HUGE disability? it's not my place to say, but yeah, it bugs me that others dismiss it
as the neice of an autistic person who's not able to pay taxes or go on dates or communicate or live on his own, fuck RFK jr and everything he stands for
