Library of Congress staff just showed what resistance looks like. After Trump abruptly fired Dr. Carla Hayden, the respected Librarian of Congress, he tried to install Todd Blanche, his former personal lawyer and current Deputy Attorney General, as acting librarian. Staff weren’t having it.

Justice Sotomayor, writing in today's deportation case. How many times must she write, "With fear for our democracy, I dissent," before Republicans get the point? Perhaps only when, as the poem goes, they come for them.

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

The richest man in the world spent more money than most of us will see in our lifetimes to lose a state Supreme Court race by 10 points.

And the fact his $25 million was a drop in the bucket compared to what he's spent on other elections is exactly why we must overturn Citizens United.

Gun violence is the NUMBER ONE cause of death for children today.

But guess what?

The CDC Department that funds and researches methods to prevent this, the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control? Gone as of today.

Are kids going to be healthier and safer now?

Yet another heartbreaking and infuriating attack on access to information and education. IMLS funding is integral to many public libraries keeping their doors open. This will be devastating to communities, particularly those in areas with little to no local funding to bolster their library budget.
