one of the big issues with corruption is that it spreads
an otherwise honest civil servant gets an order to do something slightly below board and they cave to the pressure
but now, rather than coming clean (and facing consequences), they support the regime bc it keeps them out of jail

the thing about supremacy (white, Christian, male, straight, whatever) is they straight-up don't believe in general principles—egalitarians have an ethic of identifying a rule (eg, no violence) that we want EVERYONE to adhere to & gotcha! we catch them in their hypocrisy when they violate that rule
