A PURE SOFTWARE FULL 3D ENGINE WRITTEN IN *ASSEMBLY*???????? WITH PERSPECTIVE CORRECTION, MIPMAPPING AND MULTI-TEXTURING??????? ON THE GBA???????????

THE PS1 CAN'T EVEN DO THOSE THINGS
According to the dev lead, the project was halted by Nintendo because they "wanted the Game Boy Advance to be used in a standard way and did not like 3D games due to a less than excellent frame rate".
Here is a trailer. To this day I haven't been able to get them to release the demo rom.

I would go further and say anything in the game in ANY capacity has a pretty damn good chance of shipping.

I put this intentionally ugly blue “Zzz” for unconscious guards in No One Lives Forever assuming an artist would fix it. It shipped in NOLF (PC), NOLF (PS2) and the *sequel* NOLF 2 lol

Anyone wondering why people are mourning the loss of Rebecca Heineman should watch this video from @stopskeletons.bsky.social. This is just a footnote in her extensive career, but it's what made me follow and donate to her cancer fund. We lost a legend today. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxF1...

Rebecca was one of the founders of Interplay and programmed & designed for some of the most influential games of my youth, notably Bard's Tale I & III and Wasteland. She will be missed.
My trailblazing game industry bad-ass friend Rebecca Heineman has passed away.

Fuck cancer.

For a fraction of the cost, I can make placeholders for you that are guaranteed to slip through to final build and far beyond.

Game trailer making pro-tip:

Designate a clip label color only for final capture.

I know the first timeline has old footage because the clips are blue. The second timeline has clips which are good enough to ship because they're colored orange.

i might be the only one with this issue but

i usually save youtube videos to watch when i have the time and a lot of channels have a habit of either A/B testing their titles or changing them regularly to, i suppose, attract more people and it makes me feel like my PC is constantly gaslighting me

The Game Awards: We know that China has twice as many gamers as the US population (because B2B sites never shut up about it) and I know we're happy to take money from your country's devs to advertise mobile games, but we hope you don't mind getting four seats while the US/UK get 10 times as many. ✌️

As always, all I'll say about The Game Awards is if it was serious about celebrating the global industry and not, like, four countries, it wouldn't skew jury seats to outlets from Anglophone countries. Dunno why other outlets bother when their votes for anything locally relevant get drowned out. 🤷

still looking for level design work!

I can work in Unreal, Unity, and probably whatever in-house engine you'll throw at me. I have worked on DLC for Sniper Elite 5, various community mod projects, and custom maps for TF2 and Half-Life 2.

The Game Awards are not the Oscars of video games. The Oscars miss constantly but at least they are a bona fide attempt by an industry to legitimize and promote itself; TGA is not that, it's just ads for individual products masquerading as an awards show run by one guy's particular preferences.

While Keighley partied at the game awards with big names, their up and coming "future class" of game devs had to leave and have a meetup at a local starbucks instead.

They were promised support & got basically nothing but disrespect & now they are getting canned

That's Computer Entertainer, the game magazine we released into the Creative Commons this summer! It's already being used in commercial game history projects
