Not a half-baked gesture at all. Tidal has much better quality and pays artists four times as much as Spotify.
I just switched from Spotify to Tidal as a half-baked ethical gesture and maybe this is some sort of aural placebo effect but the difference in sound quality is startling, as though Spotify plays everything through a sock. Or am I just imagining this

Aside from the cruelty of this, I’d just like to know why it’s ok to ignore and disappoint liberal/progressive voters.
Why do governments chase Farage and his voters, thinking that will neutralise them. It’s NEVER worked. He’s leading in the polls and his ideas have ruined us. WTF are you doing?
This is as bad as anything proposed by Reform.

Guys that ship sailed. That ship disappeared over the horizon. That ship is docking in New Zealand.

What is wrong with these people. They just spent two weeks rolling the pitch for a U-turn on a policy they didn’t even do yet?

Who, exactly does McSweeney serve? His terrible decisions aren’t making the UK any better. In fact, they’re paving the way for a Reform

Now, just for fun, he’s tearing his own party apart and setting the seeds for his PM’s downfall.
Cummings-level political genius, there.

Personal note: London has been home for a very, very long time, but as of today, I am also officially a Brit - that is to say, a British citizen. I feel relieved and I feel grateful - but not, perhaps, in the forelock-tugging way GB News/Starmer expect a new immigrant to be.

This is full of mildly astonishing revelations about right-wing influence at the BBC, but foremost among them is the fact that he was advised that writing for the New Statesman was effectively unacceptable but doing so for the Spectator was fine - indeed, advisable. I am flabbergasted.
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

As a small business owner I can tell you categorically that not every one of these business owners "believed that, with Brexit, the regulatory burden on their shoulders would become less"

It was quite the opposite and plenty of small business owners campaigned to Remain for precisely this reason.
