If you want to take one thing away from the art of the New Deal it is - in my humble opinion - that throwing money at *NORMAL* artists to decorate public buildings makes the world a much nicer place, particularly if you charge them with making the decorations evoke the history of where they are.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

Musk promised to sell his Tesla stock and solve world hunger if United Nations World Food Program would describe exactly how $6B would be used.

When WFP did exactly that - he didn't do jack squat. Musk is incredibly full of shit.

there's no shortage of pain in these awful times that we inhabit, but none of it comes close to losing our Leader six months ago.
I'm so grateful to @stephenrodrick.bsky.social for getting to know Melissa, and for writing about HER.

I hope you'll read it, and get to know her, too.

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

Referring to the fall of Al Franken as a "lynching" is quite a tell, almost as much a tell as referring to him as a progressive warrior. Also, "weaponize a joke photo" lol, lmao. At least 8 women came forward to accuse Franken of harassment.
Sorry, no….its not. Many of us will never forgive her for lynching Al Franken. That was a contrived right-wing hit job pushed by a disingenuous partisan hack former model who decided to weaponize a joke photo from decades ago. We lost a progressive warrior because of Dem self flagellation.
