One of the funner moments from my South Africa trip occurred when these two little borbs decided to chase each other on the edge a lagoon.

(They're Black Crakes, btw.)

While I’m at it; For Your Eyes Only is objectively the best Bond movie, and has the best Bond Girl.

Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun are objectively the worst, and no one should watch them.

And while I’m spouting Bond Opinons, Goldfinger is not the best Bond movie.

People just think it is because it has an amazing villain.

Give him a splashy entrance scene with a face reveal as he buttons his immaculate suit and says “Reports of my death were greatly exaggerated.”

Boom. Done. Everyone go home.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

See this is why I was never sold on the Daniel Craig version of Bond.

James Bond isn’t supposed to be gritty and realistic, he’s supposed to be a continually reincarnated trickster god who uses cool gadgets and kisses beautiful people and banters wittily in the face of death.

A bunch of suffering was endured by folks who are all much poorer than any US Senator, in the name of avoiding all those needless health care deaths. Folks were struggling to pay bills, buy food, take care of their families.

Trump / MAGA were correctly getting the blame from the public 🧵

When people say "There weren't many women in palaeontology/palaeoart in the 19 & 20th century" they pretend that women in the Central & East Europe did not exist, despite ladies ruling the show in that corner of the world for a century.

The fact that the Appalachian church was the only? white church to offer help with formula is why I say that whiteness hierarchies have less sway in very poor communities.

When people rely on each other for basic survival, they’re much less concerned with who “deserves” kindness and humanity.

The Sikhs have it right.

If you show up at a Gurdwara, and ask you get fed. You can show up in a $2,000 suit, no one asks, you just get fed.

To ask that people humble themselves by justifying their need is about the most anti-spiritual and soul crushing thing I can think of.

I love how some of the responses to the calling churches for baby formula TikTok lady is people saying with a straight face, 'well, you have to be careful because grifters'.

You think grifters ask for a single small can of baby formula?

You think Jesus would ask for proof of poverty?

After yesterday’s surrender, we’re launching the largest Democratic primary program that we’ve ever run.

We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.

If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

I waited a day to say this bc I respected everyone's right to vent some anger, but *remember to focus on what you can do*. Whether it's defending your community, taking action around what you've been venting about, whatever — but don't let all of your energy get captured in the social media space.

No but as someone who keeps being given pamphlets on HRT and no HRT I do feel this.

I have now read many smart people explaining what and why the dem senate did and I stand by this. My hopes for a better America do not rest on the current class of Democratic Senators.
I am not going to let Schumer and 8 center-right Democrats bring me down. We won on Tuesday. We're gonna keep winning. Just keep telling the stories of what the Trump administration is doing and how it's making lives so much harder, about the corruption, the incompetence, the violence.
