That’s a skilful and elegant answer to what’s intended as a bear trap question. Mamdani doesn’t dodge, doesn’t quibble, doesn’t compromise his own views. Puts it forward simply in his own terms. Turns it back to NY & affirming his care for all NYers. He really is exceptionally good at this.
Zohran Mamdani calling it a genocide on The View and getting applause.

It's all happening for us train enthusiasts (or is it just me?) as today marks 200 years since the Stockton and Darlington Railway opened in 1825 - the birth of the modern railway.
So here are some of the many railway linocuts I have done over the years - too many, I hear you say? Surely not… 😂

Nice lady on the phone: Why are you canceling your cable today?

Me: Politics. The media companies are truckling to the current administration and I don't wish to support them with my dollars.

Nice lady: I hear you. I can't say any more than that, but I hear you.

Word of the day is ‘tamalou’: a French name for an older person who no longer greets their friends with ‘how was your holiday?, but with ‘t’as mal où ?’, ‘where does it hurt?’. There follows an enthusiastic account of aches and pains and doctor’s appointments.

it's like having a sympathetic but fundamentally not-very-clever friend. which you know ACTUALLY can be perfectly fine in a friend, because cleverness is not the only thing! but in something that is trying to do writing for you it can be sickeningly reductive and v hard to find your way back from.

My favourite of this week’s Six Things. A 2-minute film about the guys employed to drive the route of a Tour de France stage beforehand and alter anything painted on the road by fans that might be unsuitable for broadcast.

Here they are turning a cock and balls into an owl.

Not to be flippant but evolution did see to it that we're really good at getting food off of trees & bushes. We have a rather meaningful several-million-year head start over the robots here.

If you like reading me on here, trying to say some sensible and sane things about the internet, then you will like this book.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Because,as we know, we learn by doing; we learn from mentors; structured teaching by humans. And ALL those things are specifically destroyed in this fraudulent 'revolution'. So we will no longer be able to do any of those things, see or correct the gross errors of glorified random number generators.

President Trump said that he had no plans to call Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota after a man assassinated a state lawmaker there and wounded another over the weekend.

"I think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out, I’m not calling him," Trump told reporters.
