You probably saw videos of a nighttime raid in Chicago. Agents rappelling from a helicopter, bursting down doors, questioning brown-skinned immigrants.

We investigated -- and found little evidence to support the government’s claims about Tren de Aragua.

“I Lost Everything”: Venezuelans Were Rounded Up in a Dramatic Midnight Raid but Never Charged With a Crime
Authorities said Tren de Aragua “terrorists” had taken over the building. A ProPublica investigation found little evidence to back up the government’s claims. For the first time, the Venezuelans arres...

🚨 ICE has wrongfully detained over 170 U.S. citizens since Trump's return to the White House, according to a new investigation by ProPublica. 🧵⬇️
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And…

When Kavanaugh writes his solo opinion saying the VRA was great then but unnecessary now, just remember

on the day the case was argued:

- ICE detained citizens based on skin color
- Gorsuch’s former clerk called the Minority Leader “Soros’ house slave”
- American Nazi flag in congressional office

The idea that the Court may use the Reconstruction Amendments to the Constitution to bar a remedy that helps minority voters is both ahistorical and repugnant.

What we might refer to as a "Kavanaugh Stop"
WOW. The lead plaintiff is a Latino man who's been here legally for 24 years. He was grabbed off the street by plainclothes federal agents who didn't even ASK about his status.

He was detained overnight and only released once a supervisor realized he had been illegally arrested.

I mean yes this is funny, but the fact that these unconstitutional stormtroopers are so directionless that they literally stand around waiting for random nonwhite delivery guys to bike past them is just pathetic. No mandate, no mission, no clue. Just racism.
ICE attempted
and failed to disappear a food delivery guy.
It needed to be scored.

While Trump and RFK Jr. have been illegally cutting funding that Congress approved, Donald Trump’s nominee to be the top lawyer at the Department of Health and Human Services can barely agree that RFK Jr. can’t cancel a grant because he doesn’t like your face.

This is bad.

The federal legal system will not fare well at all if, when Trump's DOJ misbehaves in district court, the most likely person to be sanctioned or censured is... the district court judge.

Bove himself is a literal criminal. A man whose short time in the public eye is defined by his open contempt for the law and those responsible for enforcing it. And the only reason he was nominated is because of his slavish devotion to the president’s most lawless impulses.
