The start of "Constructive Summer" is my go-to answer when people ask what my walk-up music would be if I were a professional baseball player.
I usually get blank stares but it's a great answer.

I'm actually someone who's open to being persuaded that it was important to strike Iran's nuclear facilities. I'm not inherently opposed to the idea, at all. But I don't find "shut up and salute the troops" a persuasive strategic argument. Quite the contrary, I find it suspiciously thin one.

This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

I think the lesson of history since 1989 is that the decisive element in modern geopolitics is not brilliance but incompetence.
No one can be genius enough to have the world dancing on their strings (it's too complex!), but plenty are stupid enough to wreck a perfectly viable state apparatus.
