historically speaking this not correct, but the issue there may hinge on whether or not and to what extent this enterprise we call a country has ever been either sustainable or a democracy

Thinking a lot about how poorly our brains recognize long term subtle changes, like climate change or biodiversity loss. We've lost something like 1 out of every 4 individual birds in the US since 1970, more for some species.
There should be at least 25% more birds around you right now.

For all the writers that took a victory lap on the dodgers not ruining baseball with their payroll…this is *exactly* what it gets you. You can have nearly all of your best players in a slump but it still doesn’t matter because you still have like 7 other guys.
