I was trying in vain to figure out what Trump's game was in Venezuela, and now @mollymckew.bsky.social has written a brilliant two-part piece explaining it all...and, spoiler alert, it's not good for America, but very good for Russia, and is absolutely terrifying.

The war on Venezuela is a war for American reality — PART 1
President Trump has pushed the nation toward a fulcrum — a point where the entire definition of American power could unhinge, and after which there is greatly increased risk for the United States of A...

I never would have voted for trump in a million years, but my wife & daughters are the reason I've cut all social ties with anyone who voted for him. To be friendly to trumpers feels like a betrayal of the women in my life I love.
Guy voted for a rapist and just can’t figure out why his daughters are mad at him. Clearly it must be something wrong with them.

This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

So you are telling me we flooded the country with guns and then put a bunch of people with guns in a city and then someone got shot?

Pete Hegseth says Trump has asked him to add 500 more National Guard troops to Washington D.C.

It's unclear why he seems to be smirking throughout much of this.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia's lawyers inform a federal judge about the Washington Post's bombshell: The government's claim that Costa Rica will no longer accept Abrego has been exposed as a lie.

More evidence—"if any were needed"—of vindictive prosecution.

It’s amazing that after 15 years, the GOP is FINALLY coalescing around a healthcare plan of sorts and it essentially amounts to “fuck it, you do it.”
Trump: "THE ONLY HEALTHCARE I'LL SUPPORT OR APPROVE IS SENDING MONEY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PEOPLE W/ NOTHING GOING TO THE BIG, FAT, RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHO HAVE RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH. THE PEOPLE WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE & BUY THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, INSURANCE. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!"
