In the audience tonight is Charlotte Bennett, one of the 13 women that Andrew Cuomo is credibly alleged to have sexually harassed while they worked in his government.

She can't speak for herself because Cuomo's lawyers have hounded her.

So I confronted him.

It could be coincidence or placebo effect, but eating fermented food twice a day for a few days seems to have staved off the reflux I was getting (maybe from anxiety, maybe from a new med) more effectively than omeprazole or magnesium/calcium liquid antacids. I’ll take it.

oof. thread worth reading
“They’re overwhelmingly white and tend to have a certain kind of look.”
These are the A-Gays of Washington, D.C. They’re (mostly) out, they’re proud (to work for President Trump) and they have big jobs inside (or alongside) this administration, wielding influence all over town.

Excited about this album that just came out. I especially like "Strongbox," about Rachel Carson and her lover Dorothy Freeman.

As a Jew, I am SO ANGRY that the feds are pretending they care about me, as a pretense to extort universities.
Breaking: NSF is suspending roughly 300 grants with UCLA, following a DOJ finding on Tuesday that the university violated Title VI by "creating a hostile educational environment for Jewish and Israeli students."

Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends.

But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month.

See you soon, NYC.

Trump is being paid staggering amounts of money by totally anonymous international actors.
I have identified "Dave Lee" (x.com/LeeDave_Aqua), the pseudonymous person behind Aqua 1 Foundation, which last month announced a $100 million deal with Trump's World Liberty Financial. I believe it's important to know who is paying the US president.

The president of the United States is threatening to strip the citizenship away from an American who says things he does not like.

And our media will invariably present this not as a major crisis, an impeachable offense that must lead to his immediate removal, but as “a spat” between Don & Rosie

I am learning now that some people can go about their lives as normal, even if they know someone is about to ring their doorbell. A delivery, a pick-up, a friend coming over.

It's apparently not normal to just sit frozen waiting, unable to eat or use the bathroom. With one eye on the door. Huh.

For @forward.com, I wrote about the NYC mayoral election and how treating the fight against antisemitism in politics as a series of pop quiz questions or gotcha moments does nothing to make Jews safer and in fact leads to people taking antisemitism less seriously

Zohran Mamdani's victory proves it: The 'gotcha' mode of fighting antisemitism has to go
Zohran Mamdani won New York City's Democratic mayoral primary despite allegations of antisemitism — a new playbook is needed.

Keeping Jewish people safe is not the same as protecting their feelings from being hurt by things they do not wish to hear about Israel. It's the same phenomenon as outlawing talking about racism in school because it makes white kids feel bad about their ancestors' conduct. Shame is good actually!
