About time.
NEW: More than two decades after victims and families of the 9/11 attacks began trying to hold the Saudi government responsible for aiding the Qaida terrorists who carried out the plot, a judge has ruled that a lawsuit against the kingdom can go to trial.
Sept. 11 Victims’ Lawsuit Against Saudi Government Can Go to Trial, Judge Rules
Information uncovered by plaintiffs has already undermined the FBI’s conclusion that two U.S.-based Saudi officials “unwittingly” helped al-Qaida hijackers after they arrived in America.

Trump’s Border Patrol raided a Washington wildfire camp, forcing firefighters to pause their work for hours. "Donald Trump, JD Vance, and Stephen Miller and their ilk are going to burn the country to the ground if that’s what it takes, so they can rule over the ashes," says Chris Hayes.

The Party has consistently failed for a decade at this point. at the very least. Right when it was needed the most. This proves a lot of different things: the American 2-party system is dogshit; party leadership in Dems and Reps are all geriatric cowards; everyone would rather chant slogans.
This is such a no-brainer that the lack of a coordinated response feels deeply damning. A Democratic leadership team that can't mobilize an instant all-hands-on-deck effort on RFK Jr. isn't a leadership team at all.
I know Democrats are overwhelmed (or rudderless, if you are less charitable) by the sheer volume of Trump authoritarian moves, but I’d like to see them unified behind specific goals like “RFK Jr is a threat to public health and needs to go.”

Soon as Trump et al face any real opposition at their level, they back down like the goddamn fucking cowards that they are.
Maybe they'll eventually regain their nerve, but for the moment, JB Pritzker appears to have single-handedly spooked the Trump administration into backing down with one 12-minute speech.
Q: Would you consider deploying the national guard to Milwaukee?

Vance: "We want to be invited into Milwaukee...We would love to come and help the people of Milwaukee. But the President of the United States has said he wants to be asked."

All these tech companies and politicians saw all those dystopic near-future movies and video games where corporations ran the world and they liked it all so much that they want to make it a reality. We are all so fucked.
However evil you think this is, it’s worse:

“The A.I. companies selected to oversee the program would have a strong financial incentive to deny claims. Medicare plans to pay them a share of the savings generated from rejections.”

It’s a real shame, seeing someone who owes much of his success to the incredible talents of the VFX people he’s worked with, throw them under the bus. (Almost irrelevant how much money he makes from each new Avatar movie.)
“I’d like to see the cost of VFX artists come down.” — ‘Avatar’ director and Stability AI board member James Cameron claims effects workers are too expensive, putting blockbusters and the VFX industry at risk.

I see people saying stuff like "why criticize Substack but give other problematic platforms (like, say, YouTube) a pass?

Which is a fair point.

Thing is, YouTube is a quasi-monopoly for sharable video. Substack wants to have a newsletter monopoly but *isn't there yet*. And it should never happen.

Seeing some unconfirmed statements also that Iran had already moved its uranium? Whether or not that is true, Trump has provided ZERO confirmation that the strikes have done ANY real damage. You don't just say you bombed a place and "mission accomplished". Fucking administration of pathetic idiots.
Not the issue most are focusing on. But has me curious. eager to hear from those w technical knowledge. my understand was that even with strategic bombers and bunker buster bombs it wld take multiple strikes to destroy the fordow facility. but Trump seems to be treating this like it's done.
June 22, 2025 at 2:46 AM
Take heed right now. Any US politician that does not immediately condemn Trump's bombing of Iran and does not call for an immediate impeachment and ousting from office of the entire administration, is not someone you should support, in any way. This is no longer GOP vs Dems.

The people who cheerleaded us into every war in the past are doing it again, joined by MAGA cultists willing to set aside former positions since Dear Leader is infallible. Lots of wars ended with a single non-nuclear air strike, so I’m sure this is all over now. 🙄

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.

If Iran is close to a nuclear weapon it is because Trump pulled out of the the deal we had with them.

This is a crisis entirely made by Trump.

Trump just bombed Fordow.

Said this on main. Sharing here as well.
Trump has bombed Iran's nuclear sites. There has been absolutely ZERO proof provided by him to the US Congress and the international community that Iran possesses ANY kind of immediate capacity to build a nuclear bomb. This comes AFTER Khamenei warned the US not to get involved.

•US Intel confirmed Iran has 0 nukes
•Iran never attacked USA
•Iran offered to revive nuclear deal
•Iran is a signature to NPT
•Iran allows full IAEA inspections

And ALL notwithstanding

•Trump had no approval from Congress

Trump has violated his Oath. If Congress had a spine they’d impeach him
