Every year on the first Thursday of November, St. James Cathedral sponsors a Mass to honor and remember homeless people who've died. The 2025 Mass is 5:30 PM, 11/6. The Cathedral bell will toll one time for each name--335 times this year (for deaths that occurred 10/1/24 thru 9/30/25).

Finally someone is willing to talk about a way to actually increase tree cover in Seattle: make more space for trees in the ROW by removing ubiquitous free private car storage! Now the big question, will Tree Action Seattle support or oppose? I know where my money is.

Organized by artists and activists, it was commissioned by the Up In Arms campaign, an effort led by Ben Cohen, the cofounder of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

Exactly. If Harrell is re-elected, nothing will change on homelessness, on housing costs, and so much more. He will take it as validation of what he's done so far.
Now is not the time to reelect a mayor who refuses to take responsibility for the failures of his administration. We have lost shelter beds every year of the mayor’s term, and more people are sleeping outside as a result. We are a national outlier on unsheltered homelessness.

When you take a big breath and think about it, it is horrifying how much material we use & then throw away to build mountains of private cars every year.

We strip mine the planet, enslave children and adults, and degrade our souls to feed our endless appetite for cars and more cars. We can change.
