The kind of day where I wouldnt know what to do with good news even if I got it. But listening to today’s ep gave me my first/only real laughter all day. Y’all deserve it all❤️

We're told the FDA is now making plans to end most of its routine food safety inspections

That oversight work would be effectively outsourced to state and local authorities, under this plan

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

One of the things I appreciate this is him shutting down the attempt at sane-washing (that we've come to see so often in modern media): "Insanity is not a strategy"

“I find it frustrating and lazy that men don’t get involved,” Ryan Hamilton said. “Why are you not out here going, ‘How dare you?’ … You’re happy to let your wife or daughter go out and tell their nightmare story over and over again while you sit your lazy ass at home?”
It’s been almost a year since Ryan Hamilton went viral with his story about carrying his pregnant wife from a puddle of blood on their bathroom floor into his truck to drive to a Texas hospital for the fourth time seeking care.

Just accidentally tried on lip plumping lip gloss and YIKES! Is this what the thinner lip community is going through??? It’s been 20 minutes and my lips are still stinging. Is the technology that it brings pain to your lips so they will swell??? Please just over line your lips and call it a day.

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

Here’s a thought, legacy media is being censored because of their billionaire owners but they’re getting *scooped* because the access journalism model is trash. I think they actually don’t have the chops for this moment. Happy for the rise of new agonistic info centers.

Democrats moved more swiftly to undermine to college students protesting genocide than Trump’s second administration.

They don’t even have a communication strategy in place! Which is wild because comms is the only lever they have to pull until at least midterms.
“We’re obviously in a bit of disarray,” a Democratic senator told Semafor. “I don’t think people are really completely sure about what lesson is to be learned in this election.”

“Give us a little time,” Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin also said. “This is brand new.”

Tbh my biggest thing is if you aren’t a Nazi why in the fuck would you ever want to make a gesture that could ever be misinterpreted as a Nazi salute? And if you did “by accident” you would immediately be like wait wait wait no fuck those people this is what I meant
The amount of Beautiful Mind math being done to explain away an obvious Nazi salute is really amazing. It's all backwards, too. You don't have to "know what's in someone's heart" to interpret a Nazi salute, the Nazi salute is there *to communicate to you* what is in the person's heart

they did, actually

75 million people voted against Donald Trump and very much did vote for their representatives to oppose him and all the horrible shit he’s doing

the Republicans responded to a much bigger win by Obama in 2008 with lockstep opposition

come on, man
As soon as I heard Booker say "The people of New Jersey didn't send me here to oppose Donald Trump," I hit mute and scrolled Bluesky instead. I just don't want to hear any more of that kind of weak-ass bullshit.

I am hoping that people are waking up to the fact that relying on the Democrats to meet this moment will be catastrophic. Not only do they lack the skill to do so, they also lack the will.
