As a proud parent of a trans daughter, I cannot understand parents who reject their LBTQIA children. The whole point of being a parent is to support your child for who they are, not who you want them to be.

Section 28 didn’t come out of nowhere.
It came from a society where 75% thought homosexuality was wrong.
From a society that feared the sight of a man in drag would corrupt.
From a society that believed ignorance was better for children than any knowledge of gay lives.

This petition calling on the Government NOT to make cruel cuts to benefits that will force more people into poverty now has almost 65,000 signatures.

Let’s make it 100,000 this weekend. It only takes a moment to sign🙏

NO cruel cuts to benefits
The Government is planning “catastrophic” cuts that experts say will force disabled people into poverty. Don’t think that’s right? Add your name now.

In 2024, the UK’s billionaires increased their collective wealth by £35 million every day. Corporate profits are soaring. Instead of trying to balance the books on the backs of the poorest both in the UK and abroad by cutting welfare and aid, it's time this government started taxing wealth fairly.

No second state visit for Trump
This is UNBELIEVABLE. Keir Starmer has just handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for a second state visit to the UK. It’s totally unprecedented, and I was so outraged when I he...

Important THREAD;
1. Peggie v NHS FIFE & Dr B Upton is a a Civil claim for discrimination, not a Criminal Trial

Dr Beth Upton did het job as instructed & is NOT on trial for anything

I believe the Court should not have allowed Dr Upton to be named a co-respondent as Dr Upton is not the employer of Nurse Peggie /

It’s such an indictment of our predominantly rightwing media that people still aren’t wise to this fact. Too many remain dangerously ignorant. Too many cheer on the very people who seek to weaponise their prejudices and persuade them to give up their own rights and protections. It’s horrendous.

But it isn't banned on Twitter yet.

This is a VERY important reference regarding misinformation as political strategy by the populist right.

I’d strongly advise reading the open access paper.
Misinformation isn't random - it's strategic. 🧵

In the first cross-national comparative study, we examine 32M tweets from politicians.

We find that misinformation is not a general condition: it is driven by populist radical right parties.

Male fragility is at the root of all evil.
I’ve gotten a lot of well-meaning replies about how misogynistic men in tech are the product of women’s rejection, and I have to point out that misogyny is systemic. Men who are married are misogynists and so are men who have never struggled to date. We live in a patriarchy that depends on it.
