The lawyers make the same points that I did here a couple of days ago. Inter alia, he won the subsequent election and there were no publications (viewings) in the US, which means no tort was committed there and no damages were suffered there.

Of course, if the interest rate is higher, an increasingly larger fraction goes to interest.

eg. Annual repayment/$100 of principal
over 30 yrs
at 10%
= 0.05/(1 - ((1.1)^-30)) = $10.61

In first year, interest is obviously exactly $10.00. So 94% is interest and hence 6% ($0.61) is repaid principal.

Repeating the example since, but for 50 years, instead of 30;

Annual repayment/$100 of principal
over 50 yrs
at 5%
= 0.05/(1 - ((1.05)^-50)) = $5.48

In first year, the interest is obviously exactly $5.00. So 91% is interest and hence 9% ($0.48) is repaid principal.

Well it feels like all interest that’s for sure! Like 99.9% interest at first

Let's try an example:

Annual repayment/$100 of principal
over 30 yrs
at 5%
= 0.05/(1 - ((1.05)^-30)) = $6.51

In first year, the interest is obviously exactly $5.00. So 77% is interest and hence 23% ($1.51) is repaid principal.

Listen up, American cousins. When the political party of your president and the one with a majority in Congress welcomes people goose-stepping around in black leather boots, waving swastika flags and brandishing canisters of Zyklon B, you should maybe question whether you're in the right country.
Poorly written, but my takeaway from it is that the American right, including the Heritage Foundation, embraces a substantial number of outright nazis.

That is no surprise at all to me.
