Did Rachel Reeves mislead the OBR?
Did she (intentionally or by happenstance) mislead a lot of very rich people and institutions who had hoped to make or save money by pre-empting budget measures? Do I care?

"Corbyn and Sultana said they would consider electoral pacts with other leftwing parties...."
I hope members will campaign for electoral pacts with themselves first.

Kinnock voice - "I’ll tell you what happens with impossible promises. You start with far-fetched resolutions....and you end up in the grotesque chaos of a Labour government, a *Labour* government, rejecting visas for homeless 8 yr olds trying to joing their parents"

I'm a fan of Mr Obama, but saying "Violence has no place in America" is a bit stupid.
Violence is the foundation of the United States.

A 25 storey building in Hong Kong is on fire, between 55 and 300 dead, and while the fire crews are still fighting the fire, the directors of the company doing the refurbishment have been arrested.
The Grenfell Tower burned in 2017, but in Britain no one gets to pay any price.

Good morning, while everyone is waiting for the budget to be announced it’s a good time to say that immigration is a source of prosperity for the UK and painting Britain as a hostile state is sabotaging the country. Thanks!

I can think of reasons to abandon jury trials. But doing it. because the government doesn't want to pay for more courts?

All the supposedly progressive people saying 'Nigel Farage's racism doesn't matter. His fans love it'.

It matters whether the leader of the party leading all the opinion polls is an outright racist. It matters if he called black people 'wogs' and said 'gas them' to Jews. Not everything is a game

So much talk about the BBC Prescott report ignores that he thought there should have been a Panorama about Kamala Harris's campaign.
That idea alone should have made the BBC Board reject his report as biased.

You are allowed to be a racist, provided you self-delude yourself that you are not.
Nigel Farage has FINALLY admitted to his Hitler(y) Youth!

Interviewer: Did you racially abuse children at school?
Farage: "Not with intent."

Translation: Yes, but you can't prove I meant it.

I'm tired hearing about the Budget.
After 16 months Labour should have worked out that it is counter-productive to give your opponent opportunities
to critisise what you have not (yet) done.

The government’s plan to review refugee status every 30 months is unworkable and extremely costly - and applying it retrospectively to people already granted protection will make an unmanageable system even worse.

2 posts containing details of Boris Johnson's response to the initial outbreak of COVID, taken from "The Decade In Tory"

I'm glad the inquiry has been published. But it's 3 years too late. And by focusing on just COVID, it barely touches the surface.

£2.50 right now.

Decisions we make now also determine future emissions. Every gas/oil-fired boiler we sell this year means higher emissions for the next 10-20 years. Same with fossil fuel-powered vehicles and roads. Similarly, insulation not added, public transport projects delayed, cycle lanes not built.
