This is no time for business as usual. Our economy is at stake. Our rights are at stake.

I’m running for U.S. Senate to fight for North Carolina, push back on the chaos in Washington, and put working families first. It’s time for change. www.politico.com/live-updates...

Last night on @msnbc.com, I talked about why I’m running for the U.S. Senate—because North Carolina needs a real fighter. Thom Tillis may talk tough on Trump’s tariffs, but all he has are empty words. When it counts, he always caves.

Trump is shredding our Constitution and tanking our economy. Thom Tillis lacks the courage to stand up to him — I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit on the sidelines.

I’m running to fight for a better future for North Carolinians.

Join our campaign — let’s take back the Senate.

I am absolutely not a fan of this man, that said, he’s completely correct and the messaging here is 💯
Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

Never in the history of wanting to be somewhere else, has anyone wanted to be somewhere else more than the guy behind Trump’s right shoulder.
Trump: "One thing I learned about the coal miners -- that's what they want to do. You could give them a penthouse on 5th Avenue and a different kind of a job and they'd be unhappy. They want to mine coal. She was gonna put them in a high tech industry where you make little cell phones and things."

(The Telegraph) - Donald Trump is systematically purging every US government institution, a pattern familiar to anybody who has studied the caudillo regimes of Latin America, or the playbook of today’s Putin-Orbán-Erdoğan prototypes.

This is a big deal. Spread the word. But it’s tiny compared to the totality of what’s happening at NIH. Cure Research for all cancers, Alzheimer’s, everything is being gutted. Intentionally. It’s all getting burned to the ground but the news isn’t getting out. The new cures won’t be there for you.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

This is more important than you realize. Bluesky doesn’t downgrade links. Which means news sites will get more traffic from here than other sites.

Which gives them economic reasons to post here first.
Bluesky says it is now sending referral traffic through its "go" subdomain to make it easier for publishers to track the traffic coming from the social network (Sarah Perez/TechCrunch)
