Trump can’t pardon state crimes — only federal ones.

Why that matters for the next Wake DA.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!

After a long and busy year, I’m grateful for the chance to slow down and spend some time with Caroline and the kids.

I hope you’re finding space this season to be with the people you love, enjoy the small moments, and do what fills your heart with joy. 🧵

Out knocking on doors today in Cary — because the best way to understand what voters care about is to actually listen.

Had some great conversations about how we can do a better job keeping Wake County safe and the need to restore trust in the office by tackling political corruption.

Governor Jim Hunt was a once-in-a-generation leader — a tireless champion for North Carolina and for public education.

His life was defined by service to others, and his impact on our state will be felt for generations. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. He will be deeply missed.

Members of Congress shouldn’t be able to trade stocks—period.

I’m glad @roycoopernc.bsky.social is supporting a ban. When I was elected to Congress, I co-sponsored that legislation and sold all my individual stocks before taking the oath.

No one should be able to profit from inside information.

Heartbroken for the Brown University community after yet another mass shooting.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death for kids in the US. As a father of two, we’re well past thoughts and prayers—it’s time for action. As Wake County DA, I’ll come down hard on those who use guns to commit crime.

Had a wonderful time last night at the Triangle Area Telegu Association’s Telugu Night, honoring @steveraoforwake.bsky.social for 14 years of service to the Morrisville Town Council.

It was great to join over 3,000 members of the Telugu community for the celebration.

I’m running for District Attorney because Wake County deserves a justice system that’s fair, accountable, and focused on real public safety.

That means taking on political corruption — whether it’s Democrats or Republicans — no free passes.

Glad to be in Morrisville this evening for an important moment for our community. I was honored to swear in Ashit Patel as he begins his work on the Town Council.

Had a great afternoon in Fayetteville supporting Kimberly Hardy as she officially filed to run in NC’s 7th District!

Kimberly shows up. She listens. She leads with heart. And she’s exactly the kind of fighter we need in DC.

I’m proud to stand with her — now let’s help send her to Congress. 🇺🇸

Wake County deserves a justice system that keeps our families safe and keeps up with our growth. But today we have just 43 prosecutors, while Mecklenburg (a smaller county) has 94 — and our entire community feels the strain. 🧵

What a privilege to celebrate my 50th surrounded by such an extraordinary community — thank you to the Chinese-American business, academic, and civic leaders who made Sunday so memorable.

It was an honor to join Elaine Marshall for a joint birthday celebration, as we both marked milestones together

Thanks so much for all the kind birthday messages today — it truly means a lot.

Hard to believe, but I officially hit 50. Grateful for every year, every lesson, and especially for Caroline, Prescott, and Adeline.

Such a great night with the NC State College Democrats!

A full house, big energy, and students fired up to flip North Carolina blue. We talked about fair maps — and the role the Wake County DA’s office plays in defending our democracy.🐺🐾
