I think in our analysis you trust us to take a position but at least analyze the alternative. In this case there is no alternative. There is no political advantage to this deal. None.

This right here.
Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

All of this is confirming my belief that Republicans never learn from a loss and Democrats never learn from a win
“People are blaming republicans for food prices and flight cancellations and health insurance costs and are furious about gilded ballrooms and Gatsby parties and the president is falling asleep on tv and is the most deeply unpopular president in history, time to cave” is a hell of an argument

Grossly irresponsible of the Times to have this ludicrous credulous spin as the top story the morning after a president who rules by fiat proclaims a totally specious emergency to militarize the capital - an editorial insult to our intelligence and our democracy.

There is zero, and I mean ZERO chance they would act like this if Biden or any Dem. were acting similarly. NYT is a propaganda arm of the GOP. They are fully on board with all this shit and Dems have to punch back HARD.
#BoycottNYT
Donald Trump is usurping the power of black mayors and black cities and this is how the idiots at the NY Times are framing it. I honest to goodness hate these people.

"No, Bard the Bowman, don't waste your effort shooting for that gap in Smaug's armored scales! Just let him do his destruction thing and the villagers of Dale will soon realize he's working against their interests and rise against him!"
--Carville Wormtongue, probably
this is why the "lie back and let the gop collapse on itself" advice is so dumb. you throw everything at them and when theres a crack in the armor you press your advantage. having them reeling every day is so much more satisfying, more productive to a political movement. jesus christ its so obvious.

Reminds me of Lincoln’s Civil War army commanders, how he would get frustrated by them being too cautious and reluctant to fight aggressively enough. He finally chose Grant, despite criticism that he was a drinker. “I can’t spare this man, he fights.”

Dems need a Grant.
another banger from the focus group just dropped
Donald Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill will leave millions of Americans broke, hungry and sick.

Shame on House Republicans for always bending the knee to the PuppetMaster-in-Chief’s extreme agenda.

Just the doldrums of Summer, nothing going on. Especially nothing regarding pedophilia. Let's just enjoy our vacations and the fact that there's no pedophilia to discuss. Yessir, go to the beach and not think about pedophilia of which nothing need be discussed. Pedophilia.
BREAKING:

Mike Johnson just canceled votes for Thursday and is sending the House home early for summer recess in order to shut down Democratic efforts to demand more votes on releasing the Epstein files.

I am being serious that it would ALSO help if lefty pundits help to amplify what Dems are already doing. Just as one example, Durbin letter revealing Bondi spend thousands of person-hours reviewing AND FLAGGING the Epstein files for Trump content.
I am being completely serious when I say that Democrats in Congress should be planning daily press conferences between now and September asking why Republicans are refusing to do their jobs to protect the country’s most famous pedophile who was also best friends with the leader of their party

Every second they’re forced to address Epstein-related questions is a second they’re kept from doing other horrendous things. And the more they weasel around about it, the more it weakens support from the base, even if it’s only a little. It’s a win-win issue for Democrats. Flood the zone.

God? Trump and Johnson are earnestly doing the work of Satan. I can smell the sulfur from here.
Mike Johnson: "God miraculously saved the president's life -- I think it's undeniable -- and he did it for an obvious purpose. His presidency and his life are the fruits of divine providence. He points that out all the time and he's right to do so."

The Supreme Court derives its power from its legitimacy. It earns its legitimacy by explaining its decisions. The endless stream of wholly unexplained orders in favor of the Trump administration is not just indefensible—it's a threat to the court's own long-term power. This reeks of illegitimacy.
Since April 4, #SCOTUS has issued 15 rulings on 17 emergency applications filed by Trump (three birthright citizenship apps were consolidated).

It has granted relief to Trump ... in all 15 rulings.

It has written majority opinions in only 3.

Today's order is the 7th with no explanation *at all.*
Here we go again: Over an acerbic dissenting opinion by Justice Sotomayor (joined in full by Justices Kagan and Jackson), #SCOTUS, with no explanation, grants a stay in the Department of Education RIFs case—effectively clearing the way for the Trump administration to dismantle much of the agency:

"Alligator Alcatraz" is wrong and media should not use it. It's propaganda. Alcatraz held people convicted of crimes, particularly violent crimes.

The Florida camp holds people *not* convicted of any crime. If they had been, they'd be in prison elsewhere.

The site is a textbook concentration camp.
I know the media is going to unthinkingly start using “Alligator Alcatraz,” but it’s disgusting and sadistic and I intend to call it what it is, a fucking concentration camp, and fuck those people who are doing this and giving it a cutesy name.
