Nobody is seriously asking Dems to be a pure as snow left wing party. But what they are being asked is to run for office like you’re not embarrassed of the stuff the Democrats claim they stand for. It’s not a big ask.

Perspective matters.

"The country is falling apart"

for whom?

Billionaires are making record profits and have reoriented the governing apparatus to guarantee them even more record-breaking years

That was the goal and it's going well for them

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

When people say that the Democrats would rather campaign on issues than solve them this is exactly what they mean. The thing is being the arty that drove this thru while in the minority would be great on the campaigns!!
Confirmed: House Democratic leaders have decided to use a stock trading ban bill as a campaign issue rather than actually pass something that had the GOP support to advance.
Jeffries' team is actively discouraging participation in the bipartisan bill and warning outside groups too.
Jeffries Undercuts Congressional Stock Trading Ban - The American Prospect
A bipartisan solution was gaining momentum, but the House Democratic leader just issued his own bill that will prevent consensus.

I have Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis. By definition it comes and goes, and you would have no idea looking at me. I'm fine 95% of the time but you better believe that sitting on a cramped airplane for a long time can be a trigger. Never judge someone based on your preconceptions of their health.
I raised this article earlier on a call and said that even if one in 20 people (which is a high guess) doesn't really need it, who cares. There are more pressing disability stories that could be told. Like wheelchairs being broken.

Also dynamic disability exists!

I don't usually like shots of the crowd being panned but the shots of those Seahawks fans realizing slowly that the 2pt try was actually good and they tied the game was incredible #TNF

Also we've fetishized "debate” in these spaces as some kind of civic good, when what matters is competence, trust, shared purpose. Medicine, engineering, boardrooms aren’t organized around debate or requirements of false balance. We've poisoned public discourse by insisting it be adversarial.

State and regional redundancy in expertise will be the only way going forward in this administration and beyond. The implications of that reality are not entirely sanguine but here we are.
