So many things to say but I just want to point to the example of “Latin American studies” being a useless major in the piece and make sure everyone knows Reading is 70% Latino? Denying Albright the chance to learn Lat Am studies is a kind of affront against the community

This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

Since Louis CK is in the news again, it's worth restating that he never gave an honest accounting of his sexual misconduct—his initial "apology" and his subsequent statements have been contradicted by the testimony of his victims, and contained elisions and gaps intended to exonerate him.

"When Prophecy Fails" is gripping, an in-depth social study that has served as a key basis for the psychological concept of cognitive dissonance.

But a new study that examines the unsealed papers of one of the book's authors claims that Prophecy leans on lies and serious manipulation.
It’s one of the most influential social psychology studies ever. Was it all a lie?
A classic book on UFO believers and their "cognitive dissonance" after aliens failed to land is called into question.

I’m so tired of startups that hire tons of reporters away from solid gigs, and then are laying off people a short period of time later.

Don’t hire people if you can’t afford to keep them.

Sounds like folklore, but for real: In one high-school tennis match in mid-1960s, in Pomona, whoever was serving had a big advantage. The smog was so dense you couldn't really see the ball as it left his racket. Most of the time people couldn't see the mountain range about 15 miles away. Good times!

I'm listening in to the hearing on the Motion for TRO in the Boston SNAP case. We're waiting for Judge Talwani to take the bench.

I'll try to do the Comey hearing at 4:00 ET if possible, but guessing these two will overlap.
