This X account of the Alberta separatist 'Alberta Prosperity Project' appears to be based in Thailand.
Wouldn't that be foreign interference?

Except, of course, it’s *not* all he can say.

Cassidy could concede publicly that confirming Kennedy was a tragic mistake. He could call for RFK Jr's resignation. He could schedule hearings, haul the secretary to Capitol Hill, and demand the CDC’s public resources reflect the scientific cannon.
TAPPER: You were the deciding vote that allowed RFK Jr to ascend to the role of Health Secretary. Did you give him too much credit?

CASSIDY: The fact is the scientific community agrees that vaccines are safe. That's all I can say.

It’s hilarious and revelatory that a bunch of giant MAGA/America First X accounts are actually based in Eastern Europe and Nigeria.

Elon Musk donated $277 million to Trump so he could steal the federal government’s data, dismantle the nation’s infrastructure, and stop foreign aid from going to nonwhite people. It’s a quid pro quo breathtaking in scope, corruption, and damage, & completely unprecedented in American history.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

This. The journalists who spend every day soaking themselves on Twitter are marinating in the muck.
If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

X rolled out a new feature overnight showing where accounts are based. This network of “Trump-supporting independent women” that claimed to be “real Americans” are based in Thailand.

The photos were stolen from European models & posts pushed pro-Trump lines while targeting Islam and LGBTQ people.

Back in school, I wrote an essay about how two-tier healthcare would improve access for everyone.

It makes intuitive sense: create a second line and the original one gets shorter, right?

A better look at the evidence and arguments like Picard's changed my mind. 🧵
Picard’s point on AB’s new “dual practice” plan: evidence shows letting surgeons bill public & private won’t fix wait times, it likely lengthens them, drains staff from public hospitals, adds red tape, and undermines access.

A solution in search of a problem. www.theglobeandmail.com/gift/70a7e73...
Allowing doctors to practise in both public and private systems solves what exactly?
What Alberta is proposing may sound good superficially, but it makes no sense in the Canadian context

The trouble with the UCP's dual practice model?

Think about a double double.

If the line at Tim’s is long because there’s only one person pouring coffee, opening an “express lane” for people who tip $20 doesn’t speed things up. It means those with more money get the coffee while others wait.

Internet scams are going to get worse and honestly it’s just a sad situation.

If you have billions of ppl in developing countries who don’t have opportunities to make a decent living but do have access to the internet, some are going to use that to degrade themselves + others, to all our detriment
I had a popular account with a valuable audience and my Twitter payout was $80 a month-ish, to the point where I disabled monetization instead of uploading my ID. Payouts are only material if you live in a developing country, so “guy in Nigeria posting right-wing Amerislop” has taken over the site.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

I think I can say on behalf of all Canadians to Thom Tillis and the other GOP pols making demands on Canada for past underspending to fuck all the way off.

If the bill is $300b, let's make a Canadian soldier killed in an American war, say, $2b per. The burden-sharing looks different: pay us MFer 1/

One could also come up with the monetary value of the damage tariffs have done, the costs to Canada of the US bombing Canada (yes, I learned yesterday at the Diefenbunker), and so on.
How about we charge rent for our warning stations in the North?
Again, fuck all the way off, Thom. 2/3

Hamilton surgeons who reconstruct breasts after mastectomies have fought for years over a billing code for their technique. They still get rejections.

It's weird to me that we all accept the idea that the news media has an obligation to be fair and balanced and honest and rigorous and stuff, but we don't expect the same standard from politicians, major corporations, podcasters, YouTubers, TikTok creators etc.
