horrifying to think that a near fatal collision between the supreme court and queer marriage barely broke through the news cycle

Ben Shapiro beginning to realize he's always been a useful chump fertilizing the political soil for actual Nazism to flourish is a bleak but brilliant bit of irony.

not only that, but musk sent his personal goons to follow the whistleblower. when the police who were sent to check out the "threat" found the engineer, he was curled up in a corner sobbing.

musk then dedicated further resources attempting to blackball the reporter who ran the engineer's story.
Tesla engineer was concerned about known thermal runaway problems in the batteries, elon and his head of security concoted a mass shooter threat pretending to be him, leaked it to the press and got a bolo issued to tried to get him swatted, Elon then stiffed his head of security

My review of Gemini Home is currently being edited for SlashGear. I lived in a much dumber version of the Disney Channel movie SMART HOME for a week to get this written, and you're going to relive that hell alongside me.

Glad to see I'm not the only one.
Google says its confusing Gemini Home rollout is going just great

annnnddddd there's the rake being stepped on, right on cue
The reason dragging this shutdown along works for Democrats is that Republicans have projected themselves as a party of total power. A shutdown proves the opposite. When your message is that we are in control and no one can stop us, well, you are currently stopped!

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

if i was building a machine that kept making people kill themselves, i'd take it off the market until we could work out the suicide bug. that's just me though.

I've been skeptical of most Mamdani criticisms but this is absolutely worth keeping an eye on. If even the furthest left mayor in America won't dismantle his city's surveillance police state, we're cooked.

Zohran Mamdani Just Inherited the NYPD Surveillance State
In addition to affordability, New York City’s mayor-elect will be forced to reckon with the NYPD’s sweeping mass surveillance operations.

A lot of people fixate on this admittedly badass line from DISCO ELYSIUM, but forget that the Deserter is a villain. He's a weird old incel whose delusions led to a murder and got union members killed. The bourgeois ARE human, but thrive off an inhuman system. Recognizing that humanity is crucial.

Bizarre to see them self castigate in the same hand wringing manner that I have for the past decade associated with the left

Body cams apparently show Border Patrol agents joking about tossing tear gas at a nonviolent protest, with one agent saying "Hey, throw it [tear gas] for fun."

Agents then tried to drive away, but there was apparently so much tear gas they were overcome, couldn't drive, and had to leave on foot.
A Border Patrol agent was caught on video telling another to throw tear gas “for fun,” according to a court filing. They also mocked protesters and residents who were getting gassed.

and again, this is a disproportion in parties. Ds panic when they lose; Rs minimize losses.
The New York Times quickly sending out Douthat to argue that Mamdani’s victory doesn’t really matter is so predictable it borders on self-parody.

Remember, folks: Every time the Right wins an election, it’s an undeniable expression of the will of the people. If a lefty wins, it’s just a blip.

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

Easy prediction is that tonight only drives the GOP establishment further toward the Fuentes/Nazi wing in a very big and public way. I give it a week before Trump claims Jews are importing Muslims to replace white voters with trans sharia law or something.

The oligarchy came out in full force against Zohran Mamdani's fight for a more affordable NYC.

It didn't matter.

Let his victory in the face of Big Money serve as a reminder that people have the power.

Dayenu!
why is this mayoral election different than all other mayoral elections?

in all other mayoral elections, we get to see andrew cuomo lose but once. but in this mayoral elections, we get to see him lose *twice*.
