Glad to see this @wired.com guide on high quality masks! A KN95 can help protect you and your loved ones from COVID-19 and other airborne viruses, especially during this busy travel season. I only wish Wired wrote about the pandemic in the present tense 🙏😷

Finally got some enormous briefs filed and off my plate last night (after several others, after several others…it’s been a fall) so I’m treating myself to a Saturday night Jewish delicacy:

Hang on, I seem to remember a campaign to villainize an effort to *create policy* for how to respond to “lies, smears, and AI deepfakes” at DHS. (I remember it because it endangers my family to this day.) Are they admitting that was a good thing now?

All I’m gonna say is the last time you said racist bullshit about New York, people threw beer bottles at you coming out of the bullpen in ‘96. A nice, respectful, New York fuck you to you, pal.

So let me get this straight. Making the rise of skywalker, one of the most nonsensical and incongruous movies of all time, is totally fine. But deciding Ben Solo is alive so we can have a Soderbergh Star Wars movie is too much?
Adam Driver reveals he was developing a new Star Wars movie ‘THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO’ with Steven Soderbergh

• Was set after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’

• Lucasfilm loved the idea but Disney said no — “They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive”

That's a reason to not release the product, to not even make the product. If your lawyers advised it was okay to release the product, fire them. If you did not have lawyers to say this, fire the person who said you didn't need lawyers, hire some, then fire your whole team and pull the product.

I am sickened by today’s attack in Manchester. Antisemitism is on the rise around the world, and we must do all we can to stomp it out. I am grateful to first responders and congregants who showed incredible bravery, and I am praying for those who were killed.

Antisemitism is part of a system of inequalities. Treating it as totally separate minimizes other forms of inequality, builds resentment against and isolates Jews from others we should be in allyship with, and ultimately does far more harm than good to Jews and everyone else.
At my own college, we’ve been told we cannot do trainings for incoming students on other kinds of bigotries, but we can train students on antisemitism. But separating antisemitism from other forms of bigotry is ultimately an incoherent way of understanding antisemitism.
