I think if you were actually angry you would describe the behind the scenes deal schumer outlined with the dems up in 2026 and name the names of the senators who were too chickenshit to put their names on their proxy yes votes right?
I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

can someone make this a magnet and put it on schumer's car like the cart narc guy

“Primary the senators who voted to end the shutdown in 2028 and 2030” is what they want you to feel so you forget who they are; “primary every senator in 2026 who was being covered for” stops this bullshit
The thing @schumer.senate.gov appears to be doing where he gets everybody who’s retiring or was just sworn in to a six-year term to vote yes so he and a bunch more moderates can vote “no” to appear more progressive than they are is so insulting lol

I thought the shutdown was the fight, did I get that wrong
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

buddy have you watched The Floor because americans can’t remember what a hammer is
Hassan: With the government reopening shortly, Republicans now finally have to come to the table. Or make no mistake, Americans will remember who stood in the way.

On the two biggest contests in the past week — the NYC election and the shutdown — Chuck Schumer isn’t just voting with Republicans; he’s voting explicitly with *Donald Trump*
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

I am once again saying that we saw what wall to wall, panic coverage of a crisis looked like after the Biden debate and there’s no reason Trump isn’t getting that kind of coverage except for class solidarity.
So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

If I were a mega rich dem I’d charter as many private jets as possible to and from small airports and call it “the left saves thanksgiving” and have local media waiting on the tarmac to interview every passenger greeting their families like troops returning from war
Sean Duffy: "We have a number of people who want to get home for the holidays, they want to see their family. Listen, many of them are not going to be able to get on an airplane."

Republicans: We Are Canceling Thanksgiving

Media: Did Zohran Mamdani Clap During His Friend’s Bar-Mitzvah Party In 2004?
TAPPER: Do you have any numerical idea of how many Americans will not be able to be with their families for Thanksgiving because of this?

DUFFY: I think the number is going to be substantial

The “columnists must worship capitalism in every piece” edict from Bezos was 100% literal but they slopped this place too quickly it’s too noticeable. Fox spent a decade slow-walking christofascism so they could transition without any bumps. This looks like store-brand face/off droopy and bleeding
Column: With Thanksgiving coming up, you may have noticed online posts about whether it's okay to charge guests for dinner.

It's part of a larger trend that, depending on your point of view, is either a major breach of etiquette or simply pragmatic.
Column | I’m on a budget but I want to host Thanksgiving dinner. Can I charge guests?
The trend of transferring financial responsibility from the host to the guest is turning fellowship into a monetary affair.

I don’t want to underplay how many fascists are already in the media but this is also because Mamdani is far away ”exotic” subject that they can be racist about with little trouble whereas admitting the GOP is a full on Nazi party would mean needing to reconciling who they hangout with regularly.
The media is rushing 300 “New York Jews worried about Mamdani antisemitism” fetch essays based on nothing but Mamdani being a Muslim meanwhile the Republican Party from top to toe has the confidence to wear nazi makeup every day knowing the press looks at it like the westworld bots seeing a polaroid
