If I ran for president solely on the platform of de-golding the White House I'd get at least 200 electoral votes right?

This is the best repudiation of the "crisis of masculinity" that I've read.

Everyone should read it when they have the chance:

Mamdani is going to impose Sha-na-na Law where key government positions will be filled through a kareoke competition of doo-wop hits.

As someone who teaches in a building that did this I hate absolutely everything about it.
Many districts in my area are going AP seminar (for all) in place of English 10 and not one book will be read. I teach elective AP seminar and there is no time for books. Some I have talked to mentioned maybe one short novella. It’s depressing. I teach 5-7 books with my 10th graders.

"Acing the exam ≠ the ability to apply that knowledge" resonated with my soul on this Friday after reminding my kids exam payments are due Monday.
I am increasingly skeptical of the whole AP thing. In the past ~5 years, I've had a consistently growing number of first year students crash out in the science, math, and language classes they've placed into on the basis of their AP scores. Acing the exam ≠ the ability to apply that knowledge

DS9 as a whole is far from perfect, which is part of what makes it so perfect. It's a messy show about the messy world at the farthest borders of paradise. It's my favorite Trek – the most complex, the deepest, the one with the most to say. I love it so.

What else am I missing?
“It claims the US would have blamed Venezuela for the attack on the USS Gravely, a guided-missile destroyer, to justify aggression against it.”

This seems familiar
US accused of plotting false-flag operation to frame Venezuela
Venezuela says it has thwarted what it calls a CIA-linked plot to attack a US warship anchored in Trinidad.

I'm really starting to feel like the people who hate education might win.
My whole FB feed is now things like this. Obviously a cheating tool but also worth noting so many of these have this messaging--if you don't cheat, you'll be "left behind" (and also that "work smarter, not harder" is shorthand for "don't work at all")

You know if you turned that first comma into a period and stopped typing you might actually have a union message.

But instead you're helping corporations learn how to replace workers.
The direct connection between a teacher and their kids must never be replaced by new technologies, but if we learn how to harness it, set commonsense guardrails and put teachers in the driver’s seat, teaching and learning can be enhanced. abcnews.go.com/Technology/w...

>ND had a Democratic senator and his comb over was epic
>Skilling should still be in prison
>We're never going to properly regulate financial markets in this country
