I love that Bluesky has such a robust legal-journalistic culture now that we have at least three people live-posting this court hearing on the Minneapolis ICE deployment!

Trump’s federal agents shot Alex Pretti and left him to die on the street.
In a sworn affidavit, a physician who witnessed the killing of Alex Pretti says agents did not attempt lifesaving measures on Pretti:

"None of the ICE agents who were near the victim were performing CPR… ICE agents appeared to be counting his bullet wounds."

We share in the deep relief and the grief of the family and friends of Ran Gvili, the last Israeli hostage whose body was brought back from Gaza to Israel today. His return is a moment of closure for his loved ones after unbearable years of uncertainty. (1/2)

You don’t have to love everything outlets like the Times or Atlantic do to understand that:
-many talented people of good faith work for most mainstream outlets
-their platforms are vastly larger than ours

Our resistance will die in secrecy or win by rallying the world to our side

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Comer on Fox right now urging Trump to pull ICE out of Minneapolis to *punish* Minnesotans — will prove to the state how good it was to have ICE there! This is really some 5-D chess

Republicans need to take a stand. This is an assault on the Constitution.

1st Amendment: peacefully assemble.

2nd Amendment: Alex Pretti was a lawful gun owner.

4th Amendment: unreasonable search and seizure.

You can’t call yourself a defender of liberty if you won’t defend it when it counts.

At the Alex Pretti memorial this afternoon, people are unfurling four very large banners.

They read, "How many more will ICE murder? How many more funerals? How many more...how many more?"

I wrote about Alex Pretti's death, asking a specific question: What is the point?
Opinion | The real reason Trump and MAGA are so quick to blame Minneapolis shooting victims
Philip Bump: Alex Pretti and Renee Good were immediately vilified — and their killings at the hands of the state justified — by the Trump administration and its supporters.

it's insane, there are thousands of observers like alex on the ground, we all know what he was doing, people knew him, it's clear on the video. the only "evidence" that he's got a terrorist manifesto is that the people who killed him said "well I bet he had a terrorist manifesto"

Federal officials described the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old U.S. citizen by a federal agent as an act of self-defense. The video evidence that has surfaced so far contradicts that assertion.

Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse at the VA. His parents said he was “a kindhearted soul.”

He was shot and killed by federal agents while trying to help a woman next to him who had been shoved to the ground.

Yes. This. Exactly this.
Why isn’t it working? There are more people out on the streets than ever, the media is turning, and the opposition is getting ever stronger, especially at the state govt level. Protest isn’t a win button, it’s a process.
