I am once again begging you to remember that "illegal" does not mean "impossible."
"Illegal" does not mean "you cannot do that."
It means that the government can, but is not required, to impose a penalty upon you if you do it anyway. No more, and no less.

This part. We do so much damage to our own movements by misrepresenting our work, especially to newcomers.
If you are doing distro, AMAZING! But please don't call it mutual aid.
We need mutual aid associations, but people need to know what they are first, and calling distro MA makes that harder.

The contradictory and improper use of the term “mutual aid” has not been helpful. The practices and principles that lay the foundation for the collectivity that is supposed to be fundamental to it are very important.

There is a recent wave of papers looking at how storms affect housing markets afterwards using semi-experimental designs. These are very important contributions.
However, a reminder: Storms don't *cause* anything. They're just wind and water. They don't evict renters or buy properties.
