In a way, this simply seems an elite, legacy-media microcosm of my catchall explanation for 2024:

“People were decadent and so bored by a dull, facilely annoying status quo that they decided ‘fuck it, let’s burn it all to the ground”, gambling they wouldn’t get scorched.

“In retrospect, oops.”

NYT jokesters: "The president also can press Congress to extend tax credits for Obamacare health insurance plans. He can work with Congress to expand legal immigration. He can nominate Fed officials who will resist political pressure to deliver short-term growth at the expense of inflation."

The left has a problem with political violence. Anyway, here’s the President of the United States saying his political opponents should be executed.

They're doing nothing to make life more affordable for regular people, but they ARE working overtime to get rich using taxpayer dollars and resources.

Why would we believe anything this administration says today?
I mean if they had told the truth like a COUPLE of times then we’d be like “well, maybe”
But now? No

Fun igneous geology: here's a rigid xenolith of peridotite in gabbro, with a less rigid xenolith of anorthosite that was smushed on top of it as the mushy pile of partially molten gabbro compacted under its own weight. On Sgurr na Stri, Isle of Skye, in the Scottish Highlands.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 91st day out of the last 103.

12 days of work in 103 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.

(6) This idea that democrats should abandon trans people and immigrants and climate change (in 2025!) is just unconscionably dumb.

Declaring “I’m focused on prescription drug prices” sounds like pandering because it IS pandering. Everyone can tell.

Try standing for something. See how it feels.

100% agree! Whoever gets the most attention creates the agenda. That's why we get elections that hinge on things that nobody thought much about until Republicans started whining about them 24/7.
(3) Pollsters like to test messages with captured audiences who are being paid to pay attention. That isn’t reality. It’s pretend.

No such circumstances exist outside of their experimental settings.

The fight over attention is the central fulcrum point of contemporary politics.
