The sarcastic, anxiety-riddled introvert your parents warned you about. New England girl now living on the edge of a Mitten.
@anabnos.com Just read your article about Carli Lloyd. She is a two-time, not a three-time World Cup champion.

If DHS doesn't have the authority to "forcibly extract an alien from the domestic custody of a foreign sovereign nation," maybe it shouldn't have the authority to traffic said alien to said foreign sovereign nation.
NEW: The government has filed its status update in the Abrego Garcia case. It says DHS does not have the authority to “forcibly extract an alien from the domestic custody of a foreign sovereign nation” and quotes Bukele’s comments during his meeting with Trump today:

I’m not saying that everything would be magically fixed if Rachel Held Evans was still alive, but I am saying that things wouldn’t be worse.

I fucking hate to give this fucker any credit, but “I have a trade deficit with my grocery store” is as simple and straightforward as explaining why tariffs are bad gets. Dems need to run with this messaging.
Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

This Board of Commissioners meeting is supposed to last an hour. We’re forty minutes in and they’re currently debating voting on the agenda.

I saw that TikTok from the lady who was like “hey liberals who keep saying that Tr*mp is a felon, you know that hiding people from ICE is a felony, right?”

And it pissed me off.

Time for people to learn about my Grandma’s crime spree.

Guess what happened when I tried to call my Senators twenty minutes before Peanut’s dinner time.

Peanut ended adding some of his thoughts to some Senatorial voicemails. That’s what.

@maddow.msnbc.com Thank you for covering my Rep, Bill Huizenga's cowardice on your show last night. Bill hasn't held an in-person town hall since 2018, so this is nothing new for him. He also told a local news station last week that he wants constituents to stop calling his office.

So apparently JD Vance decided to go skiing, and thought it would be a good idea to do this in Vermont, of all places.

VERMONT.

He's getting exactly the reception you'd expect.

I just finished reading They Were Her Property by @sejr-historian.bsky.social and it’s one of the most heartbreaking, infuriating, necessary books I’ve ever read.

I had to take my cat to urgent care yesterday. Logically, I knew it probably wasn't bird flu, because he's very low risk (indoors only, no raw food, and I've been careful about tracking things in on my shoes and outerwear), but I was still terrified he'd caught it somehow.

(My cat will be fine.)

saw this circulating on Instagram the other day and I can’t stop thinking about it. “Who cares anymore what particular knot they used in the binding?” is such a perfectly expressed repudiation of the “economic anxiety” framing

The vibe I tried to capture in my email to my MAGAt Congressional rep.

And I ticked the box saying I wanted a reply, so they have to read it and respond.

Called my doc’s office to talk to a nurse about the stomach bug I’ve had since Friday.

“Is anyone else in the household sick?” She asks.

“No, I live alone.” I reply. “It’s just me and my cat, and he’s fine.”

She was not entertained.

I’m starting to think my immune system made some sort of deal with the devil. “You will be exposed to Covid many times and never test positive, but you will catch everything else. Your common colds will last for weeks, always hovering right below the threshold for seeking medical attention.”

Also some of us live in places where we're the political minority and we get enough of that nonsense in everyday interactions.
You don’t have to subject yourself to slurs and Russian bot farms in order to understand “different perspectives” actually
