This is nauseating: “As the emails stretch through the years, they show how that protected realm vanished into the mists of time, pulled under by the rising forces of the internet and the #MeToo movement.” A “Gone With the Wind” framing for sexual abuse and harassment.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

So there’s a lawyer going around BlueSky right now responding to everyone talking about the Anthropic book settlement by (1) urging people to opt out and (2) saying that they are representing authors who are opting out.

Legally speaking I have questions. After the Paterno/Sandusky fracas, every single faculty- and staffmember of the entire Penn State system legally became a mandated reporter. Was no one in the entire NYT ecosystem a mandated reporter (even for some other gig--it doesn't stop at the doorway)?
Can we circle back to the part where the NY Times never disclosed that they have incriminating information on Donald Trump from sent by Epstein that's been sitting on their email servers for nearly a decade?
Stuff like this makes me wonder why there hasn't been any reporting about Trump having affairs during his presidencies

Coast guard island is where you send the national guard when you want the guard troops to be "trapped" by protesters. The island is closed to civilians. There is only one bridge. The federal agents will have a reason/excuse to violently clear protesters in order to get troops over the bridge.

The government’s shut down. Trump and Republicans are:

—Demolishing part of the White House to make room for a $200M golden ballroom
—Trying to send Argentina a $40 BILLION bailout
—Refusing to swear in Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva
—Buying Kristi Noem 2 luxury private jets

Americans deserve better.

Hi judge expert here this isn't funny judges only do this when they're in extreme distress
the 9th cir decision overruling the TRO might be the funniest "per curiam" i've ever seen? it's an unsigned opinion written by "the court" as a three judge panel, but has a concurring opinion and a dissenting opinion attached

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

And they won’t even come to the table to talk to us about it.

This is not about politics. It's about people.

Let’s break it down:
