MORMONS: look its very clear that God and his established authority on the earth, do not have the power to actually influence sporting events. Thats why BYU doesn't win anything important. That would be way too hard

POPE (roller skating backwards while eating a hot dog) not that hard

One thing the current Matt Fraction/Jorge Jimenez Batman run is doing really well is Title Pages, as a vibe.

This is another articulation of the whole Caring and Sincerity are Cringe, but Cringe is Good argument. Language and enthusiasm both matter - we recognize when people are being passionate, but articulate and passionate has to be the real target.
May be a hot take for Bluesky, but: Aaron Sorkin (writing, not man) is Good, Actually. It's what America needs in the medium term.

Dangerously naive if used as a model of how things work NOW, but once we get through the necessary reaction process his work provides a reasonable aspirational roadmap.

When you get the reputation of being the guy with the encouraging words on New Year's Eve, it can start to come through as a little pressure -- what if the situation on the ground is worse than usual? what if people are more scared than they usually are, and with cause? what use are good vibes then?

If I was the smartest man in the world and I had an epic plan to save the world from ruin i probably wouldn‘t have called myself “Ozymandias“.

Not sure about this new Fahrenheit 451 remake. Rather than burning books, they've banned sick burns. It's a disstopia.

The only upside of making ISPs sever internet access for illegal downloads is that the next AI company to torrent training data has their internet permanently shut off. And that’s still a terrible idea.

What we have learned across Godzilla, Rogue One, and The Creator is that Gareth Edwards is fantastic at making a certain kind of extended battle sequence utterly captivating, and that his films come alive in these scenes. Because otherwise, they are sort of lifeless.
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)
