One of the Binham Bracteates - a decorated gold disk worn as a pendant which was discovered as part of hoard in 2004 at Binham in Norfolk. Dating to 475–525, the pendant is part of the collections at Norwich Castle. 📸 My own. #FindsFriday #NorwichCastle

Another hilltop 360 for #HillfortsWednesday, this time from Mither Tap, Bennachie, Aberdeenshire, taken 2 weeks ago. I do declare that each Scottish hillfort I ascend is windier than the last, & this was definitely windier than Eildon Hill, which was pretty windy, tbf.

Old doors are always fascinating. The ironwork on this door at Kempley, Glos, includes split curl straps (i.e. the C shape has an iron band extending from its centre) and date from the 12th Century.

804 years ago, on the 24th of Novemeber 1221, Genghis Khan defeated the Khwarazmian prince Jalal al-Din, completing the Mongol conquest of central Asia. The defeated Jalal al-Din managed to establish a small state in India after the defeat. #otd #history 🗃️
