Tommy M. McGuire (Not that one. Nor that one.)

Coding bum, tetrapod. (he/him)

Bitterly cynical misanthrope. It's always more complicated. I apologize in advance; I tend to get too comfortable.

Called 'weird' by Kevin Kruse.

Those are wise words, indeed.
For the curious, the text
(J'ay souvente fois envie
D'efforcer sans regarder où
Mais je ne peu onc en ma vie
Rompre une anguille au genou)
roughly translates into:
"Oftentimes I feel the need
To power through with my head down
But I can't for the life of me
Break an eel over my knee"

Mini Of The Month - November
Deep One Herald.

Ok so this is a special one. For November we’ve partnered with @fenrisgames.com for a single mini competition.

Your mission this month is to paint this, the Deep One Herald. It’s an awesome mini with loads of potential for shenanigans.

We walk as companions! The popular fox and crow adventuring strip is now available as a print as requested.

Sorry that took me forever to draw. I'm so slow these days when it comes to big illustrations.

Reading will make you more interesting. Last week I met up with some old friends and we were discussing Cornwall. I told them, “According to legend, the devil avoids Cornwall for fear he will be baked into a pie” and the expression on their faces was priceless.

I wonder how many employers might actually refuse to hire the post-ChatGPT generation or they might end up fired because they cant do the things their degrees say they can do

Id be very angry with universities for hyping gAI the way they have, if I was a student or parent, tbh.

In Wellington, NZ, for a long weekend. Lucky with the weather (sunny and not very windy) and lucky to find these three hardcovers (I have had the paperbacks for many years) in the Pegasus bookshop.

🎆Happy #GuyFawkesDay!

Before and after the 1605 gunpowder plot, fireworks were an important part of celebrations. But what were they made of?

In our latest article, @jamesafox.bsky.social explores the fascinating book that taught the art of making fire

My family seems to think I'm good at gift-giving, so here are my tricks to figure out what to get people:
a) if they ask for something specific, just get it esp kids
b) what can they use that is related to something they like? If they make bread, a cool sour dough starter or a bread basket/knife

New map produced by RTVE, Spanish national TV, of the 6000 mass graves in Spain. In the last 25 years some 17,000 bodies of men, women and children have been exhumed out of the ~120,000 dumped in mass unmarked graves by the Franco regime.

🧵So last week I asked Kiwis and Aussies if people prefer their fairy bread with margarine or butter, crusts on or crusts off, squares vs triangles. I figured since it has been ages since I've sampled the food of the fae, I should make sure the recipe is correct for my upcoming book launch party.
