Hitting the place in my Doctor Who watch-through where 17 of the next 20 episodes are not existent in their original form (I'm on episode 2 of the Myth Makers - hopefully all the missing episodes will turn up any day now) and it's feeling a bit daunting.

Starting a thorough Doctor Who rewatch in order. I've seen every existing episode, but I've been lazy about telesnaps and even animations until now. Just finished The Space Museum, which I was already fond of. I am really loving Hartnell's era even more than I thought!

Drilling though the Earth's crust seeking cheap energy is causing a breech. The Doctor goes to a timeline where England is fascist.

one of the great tragedies of our age is how many people are willing to view AI as magic because they don't understand how it functions but unwilling to exhibit any humility at all towards more important things they understand even less (like the climate or medicine)
the program is tokenizing inputs into vectors, then doing matrix multiplication to probabilistically compute which token should follow those tokens.
as usual, you are mystified by systems beyond your understanding and come to a bad conclusion (coincidentally the one you know will get you yelled at)
